Hyperbaric Bupivacaine for Spinal Anesthesia in Cesarean Section

open access: yesAnesthesia & Analgesia, 1984
The efficacy and safety of 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine (Sensorcaine, Astra) was evaluated in 22 patients undergoing elective cesarean section under spinal anesthesia. The dose varied from 7.5 to 10 mg, (depending on the patient's height) which was significantly lower than previously reported.

Efficacy of Intravenous Nefopam, Dexmedetomidine, and Meperidine in Preventing Postspinal Anesthesia Shivering in Adult Patients Undergoing Lower Abdominal and Lower Limb Surgeries: A Double‐Blind Comparative Study

open access: yesAnesthesiology Research and Practice, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Background A common and distressing consequence that may arise after spinal anesthesia (SA) is shivering. Research focuses on the role of intravenous (IV) nefopam, dexmedetomidine (DEX), and meperidine in averting shivering episodes in adult individuals receiving SA for surgical interventions on the lower abdomen or limbs.

Noise Perception, Sensitivity, and Patient Outcomes During Cesarean Delivery

open access: yesAnesthesiology Research and Practice, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Introduction: Noise in the operating room (OR) is a recognized hazard, known to impair communication among staff and increase stress levels. While its effects on healthcare personnel have been studied, little is known about patient perception of noise, particularly during cesarean delivery (CD) under neuraxial anesthesia, where patients are fully ...

Hyperbaric bupivacaine for spinal analgesia.

open access: yesSouth African medical journal = Suid-Afrikaanse tydskrif vir geneeskunde, 1982
Sixty-one patients (ASA classification I-III) were studied in an open non-comparative trial to assess the efficacy of hyperbaric bupivacaine for spinal anaesthesia. In 59 patients the quality of analgesic block was good, while 2 required supplementary analgesia and sedation.

A Comparative Study Between Ultrasound‐Guided Genicular Nerve Block Combined With Interspace Between the Popliteal Artery and the Capsule of the Posterior Knee Block versus Adductor Canal Block in Total Knee Replacement

open access: yesAnesthesiology Research and Practice, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Background: Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a surgical intervention that relieves patients experiencing severe pain and joint dysfunction. Objective: The aim is to evaluate ultrasound‐guided genicular nerve block (GNB) paired with infiltration between the popliteal artery and the capsule of the posterior knee IPACK block in comparison with adductor ...
