TLM representation of the hyperbolic heat conduction equation
AbstractMany heat transfer situations are adequately described by the parabolic thermal diffusion equation. However, in situations in which very rapid heating occurs or in slower heating regimes for particular materials, the hyperbolic heat conduction equation is a better representation.

A NOTE ON HYPERBOLIC HEAT CONDUCTION IN A RIGID SOLID
Two hyperbolic heat conduction theories which predict a finite speed of propagation of thermal effects are considered. Numerical results obtained from these theories are presented for a one spatial dimension boundary-initial value problem, which involves transient heat conduction in a rigid half space.

Summary: Earlier we proposed numerical solutions of initial-boundary value problems for the semi-empirical model of heat conduction and modified this model by introducing more realistic approximations of the constitutive functions, basing on measured specific heat, heat conductivities and second sound speeds for NaF at low temperatures \((10\dots 20 ...

An improved theory of hyperbolic heat conduction
Summary: We examine the thermodynamic foundations of Cattaneo-Vernotte theory of heat conduction in solids. Some generalized theories of irreversible thermodynamics are shown to be unacceptable. Others are shown to be internally consistent but not completely satisfactory. A generalized definition of local temperature is given.

Hyperbolic Heat Conduction in Composite Materials
8th AIAA/ASME Joint Thermophysics and Heat Transfer Conference, 2002A hyperbolic heat conduction (HHC) equation has been proposed to replace Fourier heat conduction equation in cases heat transfer takes place in a very short period of time or at extremely low temperature. There is a growing interest in the investigation of HHC problem in recent years, but to the author’s knowledge, HHC in composite media in ...

Initial and boundary value problems of hyperbolic heat conduction
Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics, 1999This is a study on the initial and boundary value problem of a symmetric hyperbolic system which is related to the conduction of heat in solids at low temperatures. The nonlinear system consists of a conservation equation for the energy density e and a balance equation for the heat flux Qi, where e and Qi are the four basic fields of the theory.
