A Hyperbolic PDE with Parabolic Behavior [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Review, 2004
Summary: We present a hyperbolic partial differential equation (PDE) in one space and one time dimension. This equation arose in a study of numerical schemes for simulating evolving river topographies. The solution of this PDE, whose initial data are specified along a characteristic, is very similar to that of the canonical diffusion equation.

Unsteady mhd flow of tangent hyperbolic liquid past a vertical porous plate plate

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
The analysis in this communication addresses the unsteady MHD flow of tangent hyperbolic liquid through a vertical plate. The model on mass and heat transport is set up with Joule heating, heat generation, viscous dissipation, thermal radiation, chemical

Riemann Invariants and Rank-k Solutions of Hyperbolic Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper we employ a "direct method" in order to obtain rank-k solutions of any hyperbolic system of first order quasilinear differential equations in many dimensions.

Weak Continuity and Compactness for Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present several examples of fundamental problems involving weak continuity and compactness for nonlinear partial differential equations, in which compensated compactness and related ideas have played a significant role.

An Efficient Numerical Approach for Solving Nonlinear Coupled Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations with Nonlocal Conditions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
One of the most important advantages of collocation method is the possibility of dealing with nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) as well as PDEs with variable coefficients.

The system of equations for the ion sound and Langmuir waves and its new exact solutions

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
The present study deals with the system of equations for the ion sound and Langmuir waves (SEISLWs). Distinct integration schemes, including the modified Kudraysov method (MKM) and the hyperbolic function method (HFM) with the help of symbolic ...
