Ultra‐Thin Soft Pneumatic Actuation for Minimally Invasive Neural Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parylene C is a common polymer in bioelectronics, favored for its biological and chemical inertness. However, this makes bonding layers of Parylene C together very challenging. Here it is a laser to selectively weld layers of Parylene C to create high‐pressure fluidic actuation devices.

Convexity on Complex Hyperbolic Space

open access: yes, 2010
In a Riemannian manifold a regular convex domain is said to be $ $-convex if its normal curvature at each point is greater than or equal to $ $. In a Hadamard manifold, the asymptotic behaviour of the quotient $\vol( (t))/\vol(\partial (t))$ for a family of $ $-convex domains $ (t)$ expanding over the whole space has been studied and general ...

Quadric surfaces in hyperbolic space [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1903
The first broad line of demarcationi is naturally between those surfaces which have a vanishing discriminant, and those which have a non-vanishing one. We shall occupy ourselves only with surfaces of the latter type. The next great division is into ruled surfaces, non-ruled ones, and surfaces whose equations are definite forms.

The Boundary at Infinity of a Rough CAT(0) Space

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2014
We develop the boundary theory of rough CAT(0) spaces, a class of length spaces that contains both Gromov hyperbolic length spaces and CAT(0) spaces.

Bifurcating Nodoids in Hyperbolic Space

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2015
Abstract Consider in hyperbolic space ℍ3 the one parameter family of immersed (non embedded) constant mean curvature surfaces of revolution Dπ with constant mean curvature H > 1. The parameter π ∈ (−∞, 0) is the analogue of the “necksize” of the Delaunay surfaces in Euclidean space.

Extreme‐Temperature Resistant, Flexible, and Sensitive Strain Sensor for Aerospace Parachute Deployment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
In this study, we report a resistive‐type strain sensor fabricated using single‐walled CNTs, are used layer using the pray technique to deposit as conductive, and UV‐resin was spin‐coated as a protection layer. The sensor functioned in harsh temperature variation conditions from −50°C to 125°C without deterioration.

Cap‐oPMN: Oral Inflammatory Load Quantification Using Capillary Microfluidics and Automated Image Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Quantifying oral polymorphonuclear neutrophils (oPMNs) is a clinically validated approach for assessing periodontal inflammation. However, current methods, such as manual hemocytometry and flow cytometry, are time‐consuming (>3 h), require invasive sampling, and depend on staining and complex instrumentation, making them unsuitable for point ...
