Model-independent embedding of directed networks into Euclidean and hyperbolic spaces

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2023
Numerous results support that networks representing the structure of complex systems can be accompanied by hidden metric spaces. The present paper introduces a framework for embedding directed networks into hyperbolic spaces using dimension reduction ...

Hyperbolicity and Rigidity for Fibred Partially Hyperbolic Systems

open access: yesJournal of Dynamics and Differential Equations
Every volume-preserving centre-bunched fibred partially hyperbolic system with 2-dimensional centre either (1) has two distinct centre Lyapunov exponents, or (2) exhibits an invariant continuous line field (or pair of line fields) tangent to the centre leaves, or (3) admits a continuous conformal structure on the centre leaves invariant under both the ...

Conditional Symmetries and Riemann Invariants for Hyperbolic Systems of PDEs

open access: yes, 2007
This paper contains an analysis of rank-k solutions in terms of Riemann invariants, obtained from interrelations between two concepts, that of the symmetry reduction method and of the generalized method of characteristics for first order quasilinear ...

Distributed Control for Non-Cooperative Systems Governed by Time-Fractional Hyperbolic Operators

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
This paper studies distributed optimal control for non-cooperative systems involving time-fractional hyperbolic operators. Through the application of the Lax–Milgram theorem, we confirm the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions.

On the uniform hyperbolicity of some nonuniformly hyperbolic systems [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2002
We give sufficient conditions for the uniform hyperbolicity of certain nonuniformly hyperbolic dynamical systems. In particular, we show that local diffeomorphisms that are nonuniformly expanding on sets of total probability (probability one with respect to every invariant probability measure) are necessarily uniformly expanding.

Open and Dense Topological Transitivity of Extensions by Non-Compact Fiber of Hyperbolic Systems: A Review

open access: yesAxioms, 2015
Currently, there is great renewed interest in proving the topological transitivity of various classes of continuous dynamical systems. Even though this is one of the most basic dynamical properties that can be investigated, the tools used by various ...

Hyperbolic structures and root systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss the construction of a one parameter family of complex hyperbolic structures on the complement of a toric mirror arrangement associated with a simply laced root system. Subsequently we find conditions for which parameter values this leads to ball quotients.

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

ILC for Non-Linear Hyperbolic Partial Difference Systems

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
This paper discusses the iterative learning control problem for a class of non-linear partial difference system hyperbolic types. The proposed algorithm is the PD-type iterative learning control algorithm with initial state learning.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
