Geometric and Kinematic Analysis of Deployable Doubly Ruled Hyperboloids

open access: yesMegaron, 2017
This paper aims to develop deployable doubly ruled hyperboloid surfaces that can be used in architectural applications. First, the study systematically analyzes the geometric principles of hyperboloids generated by the ruled surface generation method and

DILUTING GRAVITY WITH COMPACT HYPERBOLOIDS [PDF]

open access: yesCOSMO-2000, 2001
I give a brief informal introduction to the idea and tests of large extra dimensions, focusing on the case in which the space-time manifold has a direct product structure. I then describe some attractive implementations in which the internal space comprises a compact hyperbolic manifold.

METHODS FOR SOLVING THE INTERSECTION OF ROTATION AREAS WITH STRAIGHT LINES

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2015
Given the frequent practical use of rotation areas, the paper proposes to study the methods for solving and determining the intersection of these rotation areas with various pipes, assimilated to the straight line.

STUDENTS' APPROACHES ON WARPED SURFACE

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2019
The geometric challenges in the architectural design of warped surface come mainly from the physical materialization. This paper presents structural forms based on warped surface and shows the types of structures made during the 20th and 21st century ...

ANALYSIS OF ERROR DISTRIBUTION DENSITY IN DETERMINING THE COORDINATES OF EARTHING EARTH IN THE METHODS OF SPHERES AND ELLIPSOIDS

open access: yesВестник Дагестанского государственного технического университета: Технические науки, 2019
Objectives The purpose of the study is to obtain an expression for determining the coordinates of the earthquake focus using the ellipsoid method, as well as testing the possibility of using the method using the figures of the second order of the ...

Hyperboloidal approach to quasinormal modes [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
Oscillations of black hole spacetimes exhibit divergent behavior near the bifurcation sphere and spatial infinity. In contrast, these oscillations remain regular when evaluated near the event horizon and null infinity. The hyperboloidal approach provides a natural framework to bridge these regions smoothly, resulting in a geometric regularization of ...

The hyperboloidal foliation method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The Hyperboloidal Foliation Method presented in this monograph is based on a (3+1)-foliation of Minkowski spacetime by hyperboloidal hypersurfaces. It allows us to establish global-in-time existence results for systems of nonlinear wave equations posed on a curved spacetime and to derive uniform energy bounds and optimal rates of decay in time.

The clashing of in situ and pre‐cast technologies—Western trends and local traditions in concrete engineering shaping shell construction in 20th‐century Hungary

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract After a blossoming pre‐World War II (WWII) period, the concrete construction industry in then‐socialist Hungary existed in a relative isolation from the Western World during the mid‐20th century. In this paper, we focus on the body of work of one of the then newly established state‐owned design offices, IPARTERV, to show how the isolation ...

WIRE STRUCTURE IMAGE-BASED 3D RECONSTRUCTION AIDED BY DEEP LEARNING [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2020
Objects and structures realized by connecting and bending wires are common in modern architecture, furniture design, metal sculpting, etc. The 3D reconstruction of such objects with traditional range- or image-based methods is very difficult and poses ...
