Abstract Aims Sotagliflozin, an inhibitor of sodium‐glucose co‐transporter (SGLT)‐1 and 2, reduces albuminuria, slows GFR decline, and may have diuretic and osmoregulatory effects. The effect of sotagliflozin added to insulin was assessed on markers of neurohormone activation and volume homeostasis in patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

The biology of PKM2 in the metabolism and senescence in diabetic kidney disease
ABSTRACT Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is one of the most common causes of chronic kidney disease that leads to end‐stage kidney disease, and its progression is closely linked to metabolic stress within renal tubular cells. Under long‐term hyperglycemia, cells shift their glucose metabolism from normal oxidative phosphorylation toward glycolysis.

The effect of a multidisciplinary weight loss program on renal circadian rhythm in obese adolescents
Adolescent obesity is a serious health problem associated with many comorbidities. Obesity-related alterations in circadian rhythm have been described for nocturnal blood pressure and for metabolic functions.

A new common functional coding variant at the DDC gene change renal enzyme activity and modify renal dopamine function. [PDF]
The intra-renal dopamine (DA) system is highly expressed in the proximal tubule and contributes to Na+ and blood pressure homeostasis, as well as to the development of nephropathy.

Abstract Previous studies have demonstrated that mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) activity is significantly increased in the kidneys of Dahl salt‐sensitive (SS) rats during the development of renal injury. Therefore, in the present study we examined whether blockade of mTOR with rapamycin inhibits renal injury in Dahl salt‐sensitive leptin receptor

Trace ions rejection tunning in NF by selecting solution composition: Ion permeances estimation [PDF]
Nanofiltration (NF) is suggested to selectively remove ionic species in aqueous process streams taking benefit of both membrane and aqueous solution composition. The importance of predicting and optimizing selective ion rejections by NF not only of major
