A-hypergeometric distributions and Newton polytopes [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 2018
We give a bijection between a quotient space of the parameters and the space of moments for any $A$-hypergeometric distribution. An algorithmic method to compute the inverse image of the map is proposed utilizing the holonomic gradient method and an asymptotic equivalence of the map and the iterative proportional scaling.

A Conway–Maxwell–Poisson Type Generalization of Hypergeometric Distribution

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The hypergeometric distribution has gained its importance in practice as it pertains to sampling without replacement from a finite population. It has been used to estimate the population size of rare species in ecology, discrete failure rate in ...

A new approach to precise interval estimation for the parameters of the hypergeometric distribution

open access: yesCommunications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2020
We study interval estimation for both parameters of the hypergeometric distribution: (i) the number of successes in a finite population and (ii) the size of the population.

ON A NEW GENERALIZED BETA FUNCTION DEFINED BY THE GENERALIZED WRIGHT FUNCTION AND ITS APPLICATIONS

open access: yesMalaysian Journal of Computing, 2021
Various extensions of classical gamma, beta, Gauss hypergeometric and confluent hypergeometric functions have been proposed recently by many researchers. In this paper, further generalized extended beta function with some of its properties like summation

Multivariate Generalization of the Gauss Hypergeometric Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesHacettepe Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, 2014
The Gauss hypergeometric distribution with the density proportional to x 1 (1 x) 1 (1 +x ) , 0 < x < 1 arises in connection with the prior distribution of the parameter (0 < < 1) representing trac intensity in aM=M=1 queue system. In this article, we define and study a multivariate generalization of this distribution and derive some of its properties ...

Analyzing the Odds Ratio Via Distribution Function

open access: yesBezmiâlem Science, 2021
Objective:The use of cross tables was frequently seen in early literature research in the biostatistics. Furthermore, its importance in many clinical examinations is still evident today. The aim of this study is to investigate how the 2x2 type tables are

Phase properties of hypergeometric states and negative hypergeometric states [PDF]

open access: yesJ.Opt.BQuant.Semiclass.Opt.2:29-32,2000, 1999
We show that the three quantum states (P$\acute{o}$lya states, the generalized non-classical states related to Hahn polynomials and negative hypergeometric states) introduced recently as intermediates states which interpolate between the binomial states and negative binomial states are essentially identical.

Estimating probabilistic dark diversity based on the hypergeometric distribution

open access: yesbioRxiv, 2019
The biodiversity of a site includes the absent species from the region that are theoretically able to live in the site’s particular ecological conditions. These species constitute the dark diversity of the site.

Partition structure and the $A$-hypergeometric distribution associated with the rational normal curve [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A distribution whose normalization constant is an A-hypergeometric polynomial is called an A-hypergeometric distribution. Such a distribution is in turn a generalization of the generalized hypergeometric distribution on the contingency tables with fixed ...
