The Saigo operator applied to some special functions

open access: yesRevista Técnica de la Facultad de Ingeniería, 2010
The Saigo fractional operators are defined using the Gauss hypergeometric functions as kernel. They generalize Riemann-Liouville, Erdélyi-Kober and Weyl operators.

Transcriptomic signatures and network‐based methods uncover new senescent cell anti‐apoptotic pathways and senolytics

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 8, Page 1950-1971, April 2025.
This study identifies new senescent cell antiapoptotic pathways (SCAPs) by analyzing transcriptomic signatures and co‐expression networks. We uncover novel antiapoptotic pathways, called SCAPs, and propose potential senolytic drugs, including Fluorouracil, which targets key SCAPs.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae Mub1, a substrate adaptor of E3 ubiquitin ligase Ubr2, modulates sensitivity to cell wall stressors through multiple transcription factors

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
We show that Mub1 links cell wall robustness with the ubiquitin‐proteasome system. As an adaptor protein of the E3 ubiquitin ligase Ubr2, it facilitates the ubiquitination of various transcription factors, including Mcm1 and Swi4. Yeasts evolved a complex regulatory programme to build and maintain their cell wall, the primary structure through which ...

Certain transformations of basic hypergeometric functions of two variables

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 1989
In this note the authors derive three transformations for the basic hypergeometric functions of two variables by making use of certain known summations formula.

Allosteric modulation of protein kinase A in individuals affected by NLPD‐PKA, a neurodegenerative disease in which the PRKAR1B L50R variant is expressed

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
In healthy neurons, Protein kinase A (PKA) forms a tetrameric holoenzyme enabling precise allosteric regulation. We characterized a novel neurodegenerative disease, neuronal loss, and parkinsonism driven by PRKAR1B mutation (NLPD‐PKA), demonstrating disrupted holoenzyme assembly, reduced cooperativity, and increased catalytic subunit nuclear ...

Small Sample Inference for Two‐Way Capture‐Recapture Experiments

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, Volume 93, Issue 1, Page 62-72, April 2025.
Summary The properties of the generalised Waring distribution defined on the non‐negative integers are reviewed. Formulas for its moments and its mode are given. A construction as a mixture of negative binomial distributions is also presented. Then we turn to the Petersen model for estimating the population size N in a two‐way capture‐recapture ...

Do temporary changes in earnings caused by mean reversion affect firms’ refinancing decisions?

open access: yesJournal of Financial Research, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a dynamic two‐stage trade‐off model with refinancing when earnings are mean reverting. Our model predicts a negative relation between profitability and leverage at refinancing due to conservative debt increases. With multiple rounds of refinancing, the leverage–profitability relation may turn positive when firms have substantial ...
