Hypergravity in Drosophila melanogaster
2008Hypergravity (HG), i.e., gravity levels higher than 1 g, the Earth gravity level, can be considered as a stress because the animal subjected to a high g-load has to adapt to a higher weight: a 3 g level means that the weight of the animal is magnified thrice.

Hypergravic fields and parallel controllers for thermoregulation
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1983To test the proposal that mammals have parallel neurocontrollers for temperature regulation, Long-Evans hooded male rats were exposed to cold while in a 3-G field. When exposed to cold, these rats consumed 35% less oxygen/min at 3 G than they did when exposed to cold at 1 G.

Handheld Sonographic Cardiovascular Imaging Under Hypergravity Conditions
Aerospace Medicine and Human PerformanceINTRODUCTION: Real-time cardiovascular imaging during hypergravity exposure has been historically limited by technological and physical challenges. Previous efforts at sonographic hypergravity imaging have used fixed ultrasound probes; the use of hand-held ultrasound, particularly performed by minimally trained laypersons, has been less explored.

Hypergravity studies in the Netherlands.
Journal of gravitational physiology : a journal of the International Society for Gravitational Physiology, 2003It looks like that with the utilization phase of the International Space Station (ISS) scientists will have the possibility to perform long duration and more sophisticated microgravity experiments than could be performed previously. In preparation for these spaceflight studies, ground based experiment tools for simulated (or real) microgravity and ...
