Anterior segment pathology associated with hypermetropia
Ophthalmic Genetics, 1996Eight children presented who suffered from pathological changes of the anterior chamber as part of Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome. All of them had associated hypermetropia. Hypermetropia in these cases may have resulted from disturbed development of the anterior segment of the eyes during fetal life.

Hypermetropia-Succeeded Myopia After Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Optometry and Vision Science, 2006A 58-year-old man presented with a change in vision during hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy. Subsequent follow-up visits showed a hypermetropic shift, which succeeded the myopic shift after each of two series of HBO treatments. The maximal refractive amplitude was 3.00 D (range -1.37 D to +1.62 D) in the right eye and 2.75 D (range -1.25 D to + 1.50 D ...

The Association Between Hypermetropia and Essential Hypertension
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2005To explore the relationship between the refractive state of the eye and high blood pressure in a representative population.Case-control study.Three hundred twenty-one patients with essential hypertension (mean age 53.9 +/- 15.5 years) and 188 age-matched and sex-matched healthy control subjects (mean age 50.9 +/- 7.3 years) from the same regional ...

Hereditary High Hypermetropia in the Faroe Islands
Ophthalmic Genetics, 2005To characterize the phenotype of two families with high hypermetropia from the Faroe Islands.Ophthalmologic evaluation including ultrasound oculometry and anthropometric measurements.Of the 40 examined family members, 15 individuals (8 males, 7 females; ages: 6-77 years; mean: 36.5 years) had small deep-set eyes with high hypermetropia (median: + 16.5 ...

Journal francais d'ophtalmologie, 1999The purpose of this study was to assess the predictability and efficiency of the photorefractive keratectomy in hyperopia.Thinty-eight eyes of 21 patients with the mean age of 34.6 were included. The eyes were divided into 3 groups according to their hyperopia. Group 1: 14 eyes with hyperopia greater than +7.25 D. Group 2: 13 eyes had hyperopia ranging

Ceska a slovenska oftalmologie : casopis Ceske oftalmologicke spolecnosti a Slovenske oftalmologicke spolecnosti, 2004To evaluate the results in patients with hypermetropia having undergone photoreactive keratectomy (PRK).The authors present a retrospective analysis of the results in 40 eyes operated on PRK in the period of September 1997 to November 2002 at the Eye Clinic of the Faculty Hospital in Hradec Králové. The mean preoperation spherical refraction was 2.90 +/

Hypermetropia in accommodative esodeviation.
Journal of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, 1984Contradicting earlier doctrine, several studies have indicated that hypermetropia in childhood increases over the first seven years of life, and decreases thereafter. No clear consensus exists as to these characteristics in patients with accommodative esodeviation.

[Uveal effusion--microphthalmos--severe hypermetropia].
Modern problems in ophthalmology, 1980Report of a case of uveal effusion with nanophtalmus and hypermetropia in a 40-year-old woman. This case is similar to those described in the literature as uveal effusion and nanophthalmus. It shows that the syndrome may be unilateral and not accompanied by glaucoma.
