Corneal shape in hyperopia [PDF]
Background: A trend towards decreased peripheral corneal flattening with increasing myopia has recently been demonstrated. The present study was conducted to determine whether corneal asphericity also varies significantly with hyperopic refractive error.

Taxonomy of Chemical Bondings: Opportunities and Challenges
The recent focus on supramolecular and nanosized systems produced a major increase in the types of observed noncovalent interactions and in the diversity of terms used to designate them. A hierarchical categorization (taxonomy) of terms used to designate electrophile···nucleophile interactions is proposed here.

Excimer laser treatment of hyperopia [PDF]
The aim of this study was to analyse the clinical results of hyperopic photorefractive keratectomy treatments and to compare the results achieved with the usage of different masks.20 eyes of 16 hyperopic patients were treated, using the Aesculap-Meditec MEL60 193nm ArF excimer laser. The mean duration of follow-up was 9.9+/-3.4 months.

Two New Cases Expand the Phenotypic Spectrum of TUBG1 Missense Variants
ABSTRACT The gamma‐tubulin ring complex (γ‐TuRC) plays a role in coordinating centrosome and spindle pole body formation during cell division. TUBG1 encodes a critical component of the γ‐TuRC. Pathogenic TUBG1 variants can cause a range of alterations in cortical gyral patterning, microcephaly, and other neurological manifestations.

Exotropia in children with high hyperopia [PDF]
To describe the clinical characteristics, treatment, and subsequent clinical course of children with exotropia and high hyperopia. The medical records of 26 patients seen between 1990 and 2009 who had an exotropia and ≥4.00 D of hyperopia were retrospectively reviewed.

Abstract Remarkably little is known about what factors drive success or failure in foreign policy. In part, this is because there is little fundamental agreement on what constitutes success or failure in this domain in the first place. This article engages with these shortcomings by comparing two similar regional order‐building initiatives overseen by ...

Abstract Purpose To evaluate the effectiveness of 12 months of spectacle lens wear incorporating cylindrical annular refractive elements (CARE) in slowing myopia progression compared to single vision (SV) spectacle wear. Methods In an ongoing 2‐year prospective, double‐masked, multi‐centre clinical trial, 240 Chinese children aged 6–13 years, spherical

consumption and its entry via facilitated diffusion [5] . An increase in both the glucose gradient (as in hyperglycemia) and/or its diffusion facility can increase its aqueous concentration. Almost all the patients of the abovementioned paper were treated with insulin. As we know, insulin is a hormone which facilitates glucose uptake and consumption in

Abstract Purpose To investigate 2‐year changes in macular choroidal thickness (ChT) in children receiving 0.01% atropine eyedrops and its relationship with spherical equivalent refraction (SER) progression and axial length (AL) elongation. Methods A total of 250 myopic children aged 6–16 years (167%–0.01% atropine, 83‐placebo) were enrolled in the ...
