Perceived Barriers and Potential Strategies for People Who Use Drugs in Accessing Oral Healthcare: A Qualitative Study of Service Providers

open access: yesCommunity Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Access to appropriate oral healthcare is vital for overall health and well‐being. However, people who use drugs (PWUD) often face significant barriers in accessing oral healthcare services. This qualitative study focused on exploring the perspectives of public oral health service providers and harm reduction workers to understand the

Adrenaline Auto‐Injector Prescribing in Primary Care in England: An Analysis of Non‐Standard Dosing

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, EarlyView.
Investigation into English primary care prescription data reveals that patients are receiving non‐standard doses of adrenaline auto‐injectors at all ages and across the whole of England. Guidance must be updated to include better dose‐switching procedures. At a minimum, patients aged 14 and older should be switched to 300 μg devices.

Expansion of the Phenotypic and Genotypic Spectrum for PRKAR1B‐Related Marbach–Schaaf Neurodevelopmental Syndrome: A Case Series

open access: yesClinical Genetics, EarlyView.
Comprehensive clinical description of 12 subjects with pathogenic PRKAR1B variants, including two heterozygous deletions supporting haploinsufficiency as a possible mechanism of disease, providing valuable insight into the pathophysiology of MASNS and setting a framework upon which to design future mechanistic studies of PKA signaling in brain ...

2‐Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate, Methyl Methacrylate and Ethyl Acrylate Sensitisation: A 7‐Year Retrospective Study

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
In our cohort acrylate hypersensitivity was associated with using of artificial nail products (mainly young women). Reading the test until the 7th day helps to avoid missing delayed reactions (mostly by MMA). Testing 2‐HEMA exclusively would have resulted a loss of 20% of the sensitisations, it is worth testing 2‐HEMA + MMA and EA to improve diagnostic

Piezo2 in Mechanosensory Biology: From Physiological Homeostasis to Disease‐Promoting Mechanisms

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Piezo2 channels are essential mechanotransducers regulating touch, proprioception and visceral mechanosensation across physiological systems, emerging as therapeutic targets for pathological mechanical hypersensitivity and neurogenic disorders. ABSTRACT Piezo2, a mechanically activated ion channel, serves as the key molecular transducer for touch ...

Modeling cerebral palsy in animals

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Advancements in the treatment of cerebral palsy depend on animal research. Yet, most animal models have not been fully evaluated for spasticity and dystonia using clinically relevant measures of altered tone or movement patterns, which form the basis for diagnosing people with the condition.
