Hyperspace

Proceedings of the VLDB Endowment, 2021
Microsoft recently introduced Azure Synapse Analytics, which offers an integrated experience across data ingestion, storage, and querying in Apache Spark and T-SQL over data in the lake, including files and warehouse tables. In this paper, we present our experiences with designing and implementing Hyperspace, the indexing subsystem underlying Synapse ...

CHAOS ON HYPERSPACE

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2013
In this paper, the chaotic behavior of a set-valued mapping F : X → 2X, where X is a compact space, is investigated. The existence of the generalized shadowing property in the hyperspace 2X is proved. Based on the generalized shadowing property of the set-valued mappings F and the assumption of the existence of an unstable chain recurrent point of the

Covering Hyperspace with Hypercurves

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 1991
In 1962, Davies showed that for each sequence \(\langle L_ i\rangle_{i\in\omega}\) of pairwise distinct lines in the plane each of which goes through the origin, there is a covering \(\langle E_ i\rangle_{i\in\omega}\) of the plane s.t. \(\forall i\in\omega\), every line parallel to \(L_ i\) intersects \(E_ i\) in exactly one point.

Infima of hyperspace topologies

Mathematika, 1995
We study infima of families of topologies on the hyperspace of a metrizable space. We prove that Kuratowski convergence is the infimum, in the lattice of convergences, of all Wijsman topologies and that the cocompact topology on a metric space which is complete for a metric \(d\) is the infimum of the upper Wijsman topologies arising from metrics that ...

Hyperspace Prisons

2001
Abstract Dr. Googol enjoys simple-looking geometrical puzzles that require you to estimate the number of overlapping triangles within a diagram such as the one in Figure 61.1a. Can you guess how many triangles are in this figure? Stop. Take a guess before reading further. This figure contains a walloping 87 triangles.
