Diffusion Tensor Imaging in Hypertrophic Olivary Degeneration [PDF]

open access: hybridAmerican Journal of Neuroradiology, 2009
We report DTI and fiber tractography findings in a case of hypertrophic olivary degeneration. A 51-year-old man presented with an abnormal gait and visual difficulties. MR imaging showed enlargement of the right medullary olive and a vascular lesion in the right pontine tegmentum.

Hypertrophic olivary degeneration secondary to brain abscess: a case report and literature review [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience
IntroductionHypertrophic olivary degeneration (HOD) is a rare transsynaptic neurodegenerative disorder arising from disruption of the Guillain-Mollaret triangle (GMT), a neural circuit critical for motor coordination.

Progressive ataxia and palatal tremor (PAPT) with hypertrophic olivary degeneration (HOD): A case report [PDF]

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
Palatal tremor has been subdivided into essential (EPT) and symptomatic palatal tremor (SPT). Progressive ataxia and palatal tremor syndrome (PAPT) is a subgroup of symptomatic palatal tremor (SPT).

Clinical characteristics of hypertrophic olivary degeneration following brainstem or cerebellar hemorrhage [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Patients who have experienced bleeding in the posterior circulation of the brain often develop Hypertrophic Olivary Degeneration (HOD). This condition can lead to new neurological problems several months after the initial hemorrhage, potentially ...

The Dentato-Rubro-Olivary Tract: Clinical Dimension of This Anatomical Pathway

open access: yesCase Reports in Otolaryngology, 2013
Symptomatic palatal tremor is potentially the result of a lesion in the triangle of Guillain-Mollaret (1931) and is associated with hypertrophic olivary degeneration (HOD) which has characteristic MR findings. The triangle is defined by dentate efferents

Hypertrophic olivary degeneration: A clinico-radiologic study. [PDF]

open access: yesParkinsonism Relat Disord, 2016
The frequency and causes of hypertrophic olivary degeneration (HOD) are unknown. We compared the clinical and radiological characteristics of unilateral HOD and bilateral HOD.We performed a search of a radiologic report database for patients who were radiologically diagnosed as having HOD. This database includes the patients examined at the Mayo Clinic
