Effects of Polyphenols on Oxidative Stress-Mediated Injury in Cardiomyocytes [PDF]
Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of mortality and morbidity in the world. Hypertension, ischemia/reperfusion, diabetes and anti-cancer drugs contribute to heart failure through oxidative and nitrosative stresses which cause cardiomyocytes ...

Doxorubicin (DOX)‐induced cardiotoxicity is a major limitation to its broader clinical application, while cardioprotective interventions often risk reducing the anticancer efficacy of DOX. To address these challenges, this work constructs an EDTA‐functionalized metal–organic framework that enhances tumor therapy and provides efficient cardioprotection ...

Adaptations to iron deficiency: cardiac functional responsiveness to norepinephrine, arterial remodeling, and the effect of beta-blockade on cardiac hypertrophy. [PDF]
BackgroundIron deficiency (ID) results in ventricular hypertrophy, believed to involve sympathetic stimulation. We hypothesized that with ID 1) intravenous norepinephrine would alter heart rate (HR) and contractility, 2) abdominal aorta would be larger ...

TrxR2 deletion in diabetic mice suppresses TUFM‐AMPK‐FUNDC1‐dependent mitophagy in endothelial cells, resulting in SCP2 upregulation and mitochondrial translocation of ACSL4. Mitochondrial ACSL4 promotes mitochondrial eicosanoid biosynthesis and ferroptosis, thereby aggravating cardiac microvascular injury and diabetic cardiomyopathy.

Screening for Fabry Disease in Left Ventricular Hypertrophy: Documentation of a Novel Mutation
Background: Fabry disease is a lysosomal storage disease caused by enzyme α-galactosidase A deficiency as a result of mutations in the GLA gene. Cardiac involvement is characterized by progressive left ventricular hypertrophy.

Non-invasive electrical markers in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy.
Introduction The left ventricular hypertrophy is related with the genesis of ventricular arrhythmiasand sudden death. Depending of the cause, different histologycalmodifications that generate different arrhythmogenic substrates, takesplace.
