The hypnotic induction profile and hypnotic susceptibility
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 1974Abstract The Hypnotic Induction Profile (Spiegel & Bridger, 1970) and the Harvard Group Scale of Hypnotic Susceptibility, Form A (Shor & E. Orne, 1962) were compared using 47 nursing students. A significant positive relationship between these 2 scales was found. The eye-roll, which is the ability to roll one's eyes upward and slowly close the lids, was

Hypnotic Susceptibility Revisited
American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis, 1980Abstract The concept and measurement of hypnotic susceptibility are re-examined in their relation to hypnotizability, hypnotic depth and suggestibility. The Stanford Scales and similar instruments are found to have failed to take into account essential features defining traditional hypnosis and suggestibility and to have created confusion in the ...

The Children's Hypnotic Susceptibility Scale
American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis, 1978Abstract The Children's Hypnotic Susceptibility Scale is a measure of hypnotic responsiveness in children. This report describes the development of the scale and the standardization sample. It reports norms for the scale, reliability and validity data, and studies which have used the scale.

Hypnotic Susceptibility in Middle Childhood
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 1963Abstract A sample of 48 children, 32 boys and 16 girls, aged 6 through 12, tested on Part I of London's adaptation of the Stanford Hypnotic Susceptibility Scale, showed a mean hypnotic susceptibility score higher than that of the standardization sample of adults, but not significantly different from scores obtained from volunteer samples of college-age

Can motor imagery and hypnotic susceptibility explain Conversion Disorder with motor symptoms?
Marked distortions in sense of agency can be induced by hypnosis in susceptible individuals, including alterations in subjective awareness of movement initiation and control. These distortions, with associated disability, are similar to those experienced

Hypnotic susceptibility and verbal conditioning
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 1976Abstract 18 Ss highly susceptible to hypnosis and 18 Ss refractory to hypnosis were studied in a verbal conditioning task modeled after the one used by Taffel (1955). Results indicated that the highly susceptible group showed significantly greater conditioning than the low group.

Modification of hypnotic susceptibility
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 1967Abstract The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the effectiveness of a new training procedure on the modification of hypnotic susceptibility. 10 Ss were scored on their objective and subjective performances on the Stanford Hypnotic Susceptibility Scale, Forms A and C, both before and after training.

Visual Perception of Area and Hypnotic Susceptibility
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1995The visual perception of area of geometrical figures was compared for subjects of high and low hypnotizability in experiments with direct comparison of two different geometrical figures. The Stanford Hypnotic Susceptibility Scale (Form C) was used to assess subjects' hypnotizability. No differences between 17 highly hypnotizable and 10 low bypnorizable

Eeg Concomitants of Hypnotic Susceptibility
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 1997Numerous historical attempts have been directed at understanding electrocortical concomitants of hypnosis. Today, with the availability of more sophisticated multichannel recording technologies and signal-processing approaches, it is possible to reconsider and update previous attempts.
