Abstract Introduction Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a severe, desquamating skin disorder associated with pregnancy that presents as fever, fatigue, malaise and sterile pustules. It is associated with profound maternal morbidity, maternal mortality, placental insufficiency and stillbirth.

Oral calcium supplementation modestly improved early postpartum plasma ionized Ca and reduced ketone body concentrations, suggesting moderated metabolic benefits. No effects on milk yield and fertility were found. Further research with larger sample sizes may be warranted to confirm these findings.
