Mycologia, 1941
In December 1939 Dr. Alfred E. Emerson of the Zoology Department of the University of Chicago, known for his work with termites, gave me for identification a fungus parasitic on termites. Two infected insects were collected on January 5, 1935, below Great Rift Wall, Lake Manyara, Tanganyika, Africa, by Dr.

Neotypification of Paecilomyces hepiali (Hypocreales)
TAXON, 2015AbstractPaecilomyces hepiali is an important fungus for medicinal and healthcare products generating an economic value of one billion CNY annually. It has been the subject of much research attention, especially due to its isolation from field collections of Ophiocordyceps sinensis (the caterpillar fungus or Dōng chóng xià căo) prized for its reputed ...

Systematics and evolution of the genus Torrubiella (Hypocreales, Ascomycota)
Mycological Research, 2009Torrubiella is a genus of arthropod-pathogenic fungi that primarily attacks spiders and scale insects. Based on the morphology of the perithecia, asci, and ascospores, it is classified in Clavicipitaceae s. lat. (Hypocreales), and is considered a close relative of Cordyceps s.

Phylogenetic placement of the anamorphic tribe Ustilaginoideae (Hypocreales, Ascomycota)
Mycologia, 2004Tribe Ustilaginoideae (Hypocreales, Ascomycetes) is made up of three anamorph genera, Munkia, Neomunkia and Ustilaginoidea. Species of Munkia and Neomunkia develop on the culms of bamboo (Chusquea spp.) and have a neotropical distribution while species of Ustilaginoidea infect the florets of various grasses and are pantropical in distribution.

For the first time, Cladobotryum mycophilum, a causal agent of cobweb disease of Agaricus bisporus, was discovered on mushroom farms in Ukraine. Growth characteristics and morphology features of five strains of C. mycophilum were studied on standard nutrient media of different composition. The GenusOphionectria(Euascomycetes, Hypocreales)
Mycologia, 1977SUMMARY The genus Ophionectria has been included in both the Euascomycetes and Loculoascomycetes. Critical study of the type species, Ophionectria trichospora, reveals it to have unitunicate asci, a hypocreaceous centrum and bright-colored perithecia. The genus, therefore, belongs in the euascomycete order Hypocreales.

Protocreopsis, a New Genus of the Hypocreales
Kew Bulletin, 1977The present new genus is closely related to Hypocreopsis Karsten, represented by H. lichenoides (Tode) Karsten and H. rhododendri Thaxter. Both genera have Nectria-type, 1-septate and hyaline ascospores and Hypocrea-type (Homalocrea-type), thin and effuse or pulvinate stromata.

Hyperepiphyllous, perianthicolous Hypocreales—highly specialized ascomycetes of the phyllosphere
Mycologia, 2010Five species of perithecial ascomycetes obligately infect the developing sporophytes of epiphyllous hepatics (Marchantiophyta, Porellales, Lejeuneaceae and Radulales, Radulaceae) while they are still enclosed by the calyptra and the perianth. These ascomycetes belong to the Hypocreales, which are especially well represented among the hyperepiphyllous ...
