Hypocycloidal Tomography of the Optic Canal

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1969
A simple, rapid, and reproducible method for producing high quality tomograms of the optic canals is described. The advantages observed in a clinical study of 72 canals include the ability to distinguish between the orbital and the cranial ends of the canal. In addition, obscured portions of the canal may be visualized in the tomographic section. Other

On the Three-Cusped Hypocycloid

The Mathematical Gazette, 1945
I have had a recent opportunity to recall an early article (1884) which I wrote on the three-cusped hypocycloid. My starting point was the property that the asymptotes of any pencil of equilateral hyperbolas envelop such a hypocycloid. I proved this analytically in the aforesaid article ; perhaps there is some interest in finding geometrical reasons ...

Motion of electrons in a hypocycloidal monochromator

Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 2007
Abstract Motion of electrons in a hypocycloidal monochromator, which uses a uniform axial magnetic field and a cylindrical electric field has been investigated. Analytical equations for trajectories of electrons (charged particles in general) in the monochromator have been obtained for the case that neglects fringing fields at the boundaries of ...

Axial hypocycloidal tomography of the orbits

The British Journal of Radiology, 1975
Axial hypocycloidal tomography has been applied to the investigation of 168 patients with suspected pathology in the orbit. Of these 75 had histological or angiographic confirmation of a space occupying lesion, and 55 patients showed positive evidence of abnormality.
