Design of a Modified Hypocycloid Engine
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1991<div class="htmlview paragraph">The modified hypocycloid engine incorporates a unique geared drive that imparts straight-line, sinusoidal motion to the one-piece piston and rod assembly. These kinematic characteristics provide a variety of potential benefits not possible with traditional slider-crank kinematics. Perfect engine balance is achieved

Aspects of the hypocycloidal reluctance motor
IEE Proceedings B Electric Power Applications, 1981The mode of operation of the hypocycloidal or rolling-rotor reluctance motor is discussed. The construction of the motor in its principal forms is reviewed. The unusual aspects of the motor's operation are described and analysed, a method of solution of the torque equation is indicated, and analytical expressions for torque, valid for certain defined ...

Hermite interpolation by hypocycloids and epicycloids with rational offsets
Computer Aided Geometric Design, 2010The authors show that all rational hypo- and epicycloids have Pythagorean normals and therefore also have rational offsets. Based on this observation, an efficient algorithm for \(G^1\) Hermite interpolation with their arcs is constructed. For all regular data, there is a unique hypo- or epicycloidal arc of the given canonical type.

Computational studies of a hypocycloidal electron monochromator
Measurement Science and Technology, 2005A hypocycloidal electron monochromator (HEM) which uses a uniform axial magnetic field and a cylindrical electric field has been investigated in a computational study using the CPO–3D program. Electron trajectories in the monochromator have been calculated and analysed for an incident electron beam which has a finite angular spread.

Cisternography with metrizamide and hypocycloidal tomography.
Acta radiologica. Supplementum, 1988Cisternography with metrizamide (Amipaque) and hypocycloidal tomography was found to depict cisternal anatomy with detail and precision not obtainable with any other technique. Clinical tolerance is comparable to that of encephalography if suitable precautions are followed.

Patient Dose Distributions During Hypocycloidal Tomography
Radiology, 1972Abstract The objective of this study was to determine patient dose distributions in the usual hypocycloidal tomographic techniques and then to investigate two means of reducing this dose. The effect of added filtration on both film quality and dose reduction was determined, and effects of selected organ shielding on patient dose were measured.

Failure of a Plate with a Hypocycloidal Inclusion
2003A rigid hypocycloidal inclusion is embedded in an infinite plate which is subjected to a uniaxial uniform stress σ at infinity (Figure 1). The equation of the inclusion with respect to the frame Oxy is of the form $$ z = \frac{{2a}}{3}\left( {\zeta + \frac{1}{2}{\zeta ^{ - 2}}} \right) $$ (1) with $$ z = r{e^{i\varphi }},{\kern 1pt} \zeta
