Hypogonadotrophic-hypogonadism (hypothalamic-pituitary failure -WHO Group I), is a situation in which gonadotrophin concentrations are so low as to be completely unable to stimulate follicle development and oestrogen production from the ovaries. Anovulation, amenorrhea and hypo-oestrogenism are the consequences.
