Perspectives of the non-statin hypolipidemic agents
Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 2010This review focuses on the non-statin strategies for the treatment of hyperlipidemias in humans. Even if statins remain the major hypolipidemic drugs at present, an increasing number of patients that are treated with statins raises as well the numbers of patients suffering from side effects or not responding well to the therapy.

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1980
More than 110 derivatives of alkoxycinnamic acids were synthesized and their hypolipidemic activities were evaluated in a screening system with rats. Cinnamic acids, alpha-methylcinnamic acids, and their various esters with a higher p-alkoxy substituent were found to possess hypolipidemic activities higher than or comparable to that of clofibrate.

Biological Evaluation of Chalcones and Analogues as Hypolipidemic Agents
Archiv Der Pharmazie, 2006AbstractIn order to evaluate the anti‐hyperlipidemic effect of synthetic chalcones and some analogues, nineteen compounds with different substituents in both rings were synthesized and hypolipidemic activities were measured in vivo using Triton WR1339 acute and hypercaloric chronic assays.

Novel Euglycemic and Hypolipidemic Agents. 1
Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1998A series of [[(heterocyclyl)ethoxy]benzyl]-2,4-thiazolidinediones have been synthesized by the condensation of corresponding aldehyde 1 and 2,4-thiazolidinedione followed by hydrogenation. Both unsaturated thiazolidinedione 2 and its saturated counterpart 3 have shown antihyperglycemic activity.
