Reactive Oxygen Species: Potential Regulatory Molecules in Response to Hypomagnetic Field Exposure

Bioelectromagnetics, 2020
Organisms, including humans, could be exposed to hypomagnetic fields (HMFs, intensity <5 μT), e.g. in some artificially shielded magnetic environments and during deep‐space flights. Previous studies have demonstrated that HMF exposure could have negative effects on the central nervous system and embryonic development in many animals.

Delayed consequences of the influence of hypomagnetic field on roach (Rutilus rutilus) embryos

Marine and Freshwater Research, 2021
The absence of magnetic fields can affect fish embryogenesis. The influence of hypomagnetic field on the survival of roach (Rutilus rutilus) embryos was estimated. Delayed consequences of R. rutilus embryos and prelarvae exposure to these magnetic conditions were also studied.

Effects of hypomagnetic field on noradrenergic activities in the brainstem of golden hamster

Bioelectromagnetics, 2006
AbstractPrevious studies found that elimination of the geomagnetic field (GMF) interferes with the normal brain functions, but the underlying mechanism remains unknown. The present study examined the effects of long‐term exposures to a near‐zero magnetic environment on the noradrenergic activities in the brainstem of golden hamsters.

Exposure to hypomagnetic field space for multiple generations causes amnesia in Drosophila melanogaster

Neuroscience Letters, 2004
This is the introduction of Drosophila into the study of learning and memory affected by removal of the geomagnetic field (GMF) for successive generations. Using the operant visual learning/memory paradigm at a flight simulator, the present study revealed that wild-type flies raised in a hypomagnetic field environment continuously for 10 successive ...

Chicks incubated in hypomagnetic field need more exogenous noradrenaline for memory consolidation

Advances in Space Research, 2009
Abstract The geomagnetic field (GMF) is one of the essential characteristics of the terrestrial environment but does not apply in outer space. The elimination of GMF may interfere with the normal activities of life in many aspects. Previous behavioral experiments have found that long-term memory is impaired in chicks incubated in a near-zero magnetic

Hypomagnetic Field Exposure Affecting Gut Microbiota, Reactive Oxygen Species Levels, and Colonic Cell Proliferation in Mice

Bioelectromagnetics, 2022
The gut microbiota has been considered one of the key factors in host health, which is influenced by many environmental factors. The geomagnetic field (GMF) represents one of the important environmental conditions for living organisms. Previous studies have shown that the elimination of GMF, the so‐called hypomagnetic field (HMF), could affect the ...

Effects of Hypomagnetic Field on Magnetosome Formation ofMagnetospirillum MagneticumAMB-1

Geomicrobiology Journal, 2008
Magnetotactic bacteria synthesize intracellular magnetic particles, magnetosomes, which arrange in chain(s) and confer on cell a magnetic dipolar moment. To explore the function of geomagnetic field to magnetotactic bacteria, the effects of hypomagnetic field on magnetosome formation in Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1 were studied.

A Hypomagnetic Field Modulates the Susceptibility of Erythrocytes to tert-Butyl Hydroperoxide in Rats

Biophysics, 2019
Abstract—Red blood cells of rats were exposed to the earth’s magnetic field and an attenuated magnetic field in the presence of tert-butyl hydroperoxide to induce oxidative stress. Spectral analysis within the wavelength range of 500–700 nm was used to estimate the concentration of three forms of hemoglobin: oxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, and hemichrome,

Decline of cell viability and mitochondrial activity in mouse skeletal muscle cell in a hypomagnetic field

Bioelectromagnetics, 2016
Hypomagnetic field (HMF), one of the key environmental risk factors for astronauts traveling in outer space, has previously been shown to repress locomotion of mammalians. However, underlying mechanisms of how HMF affects the motor system remains poorly understood.

MULTILEVEL GRADIENT GENERATOR FOR STUDYING THE EFFECT OF HYPOMAGNETIC FIELDS ON BIOLOGICAL OBJECTS

Kontrol'. Diagnostika
A multilevel generator has been developed based on a gradient magnetic field source using square Helmholtz coils, which makes it possible to create changes in the level of the magnetic field in the horizontal plane with a constant vertical magnetic component.
