Histological changes to the rat mandibular condyle in response to long-term exposure to an extremely low frequency magnetic field [PDF]
Background: The need for electrical power continues to increase along with the rapidly growing economies of industrialized countries. However, the effects of electrical fields (EFs) on human health remain unclear.

Effect of a near-zero magnetic field on development and flight of oriental armyworm (Mythimna separata) [PDF]
The geomagnetic field affects all living organisms on the Earth. In this study we investigated the developmental and behavioral effects of rearing Mythimna separata in a near-zero magnetic field (\u3c500 nT) compared to the local geomagnetic field ...

The Embryonic Development of Great Ramshorn Planorbarius Corneus under the Hypomagnetic Field [PDF]
The effect of a 100-300-fold attenuated geomagnetic field on the embryonic development of great ramshorn Planorbarius corneus and oxidation-reduction properties in water environment were studied in a hypomagnetic chamber. Mainly the hypomagnetic field effected beneficial influence on the development of mollusks: teratogenic effects were less massive, i.

Radical Pair Model for Magnetic Field Effects on NMDA Receptor Activity
The N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor is a prominent player in brain development and functioning. Perturbations to its functioning through external stimuli like magnetic fields can potentially affect the brain in numerous ways.

Gradient Hypomagnetic Fields Modeling Based on Square Helmholtz Coils
Helmholtz coils are widely used to generate controlled magnetic fields in magnetometer calibration, electromagnetic system testing, material property research experiments, and biotesting. Existing limitations in the homogeneity region of magnetic fields create difficulties in implementing experimental studies.

Entangled radicals may explain lithium effects on hyperactivity
It is known that bipolar disorder and its lithium treatment involve the modulation of oxidative stress. Moreover, it has been observed that lithium's effects are isotope-dependent.

Effect of the hypomagnetic field on the size of the eye pupil
Previously, we reported that the hypomagnetic field obtained by the 100-fold deprivation of the geomagnetic field affected human cognitive processes as estimated in several computer tests. The exposure to the hypomagnetic field caused a statistically significant increase both in the task processing time and in the number of errors.
