Selective parenchymal clamping in open partial nephrectomy: Early experience with a low cost, reusable novel parenchymal clamp

open access: yesBJUI Compass, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 88-95, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Objectives The objective of this study is to present our initial experience with a novel parenchymal clamp (NPC) developed to allow partial nephrectomies (PN) to be performed without whole kidney ischaemia. We compare patients who underwent PN with the NPC with those undergoing standard PNs. Methods The NPC applies pressure only to the portion

Intraoperative Hypotension Is Associated With Adverse Clinical Outcomes After Noncardiac Surgery

open access: yesAnesthesia and Analgesia, 2020
BACKGROUND: Intraoperative hypotension (IOH) occurs frequently during surgery and may be associated with organ ischemia; however, few multicenter studies report data regarding its associations with adverse postoperative outcomes across varying ...

Ability of an Arterial Waveform Analysis–Derived Hypotension Prediction Index to Predict Future Hypotensive Events in Surgical Patients

open access: yesAnesthesia and Analgesia, 2020
BACKGROUND: Intraoperative hypotension is associated with worse perioperative outcomes for patients undergoing major noncardiac surgery. The Hypotension Prediction Index is a unitless number that is derived from an arterial pressure waveform trace, and ...

Neuroimaging for differential diagnosis of transient neurological attacks

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 12, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background Rapid yet comprehensive neuroimaging protocols are required for patients with suspected acute stroke. However, stroke mimics can account for approximately one in five clinically diagnosed acute ischemic strokes and the rate of thrombolyzed mimics can be as high as 17%.

Phase 2 results of lisocabtagene maraleucel in Japanese patients with relapsed/refractory aggressive B‐cell non‐Hodgkin lymphoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 11, Issue 24, Page 4889-4899, December 2022., 2022
This analysis assessed safety and efficacy of lisocabtagene maraleucel (liso‐cel), an autologous CD‐19‐directed CAR T‐cell product, in Japanese patients with R/R aggressive LBCL in Cohort 3 of TRANSCEND WORLD (NCT03484702). Liso‐cel demonstrated meaningful efficacy and a manageable safety profile in Japanese patients with R/R LBCL.

Combined angiotensin-converting enzyme and aminopeptidase inhibition for treatment of experimental ventilator-induced lung injury in mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2023
Introduction: Ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) may aggravate critical illness. Although angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibition has beneficial effects in ventilator-induced lung injury, its clinical application is impeded by concomitant ...

Perbandingan Efek Pemberian Cairan Kristaloid Sebelum Tindakan Anestesi Spinal (Preload) dan Sesaat Setelah Anestesi Spinal (Coload) terhadap Kejadian Hipotensi Maternal pada Seksio Sesarea

open access: yesJurnal Anestesi Perioperatif, 2016
Prophylactic fluid as a preload before spinal anesthesia has been a routine procedure to prevent maternal hypotension during cesarean delivery. Unlike colloid, timing of infusion of crystalloid may be important because it has short linger time in the ...

Special maternal care bundle to attenuate post-spinal hypotension in cesarean section: A randomized controlled clinical trial

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Anaesthesia, 2023
Background This study aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of a special maternal care bundle as an alternative technique for the attenuation of hypotension following spinal anesthesia in parturients scheduled for CS.Methods This double-blinded ...

Early contingentnegative variation of the EEG and attentional flexibility are reduced in hypotension [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This study explored the question as to whether hypotension is related to decreased attentional performance and reduced cortical activation. A total of 50 females aged 19 44 years participated in the study. Attentional performance was assessed using three
