The FASEB Journal, 2009 Holoprosencephaly is a complex congenital malformation of the forebrain and face. Recent clinical evidence shows a correlation between hypoxia and holoprosencephaly. We examined the role of hypoxia in causing holoprosencephaly in chick embryos.
