Analysis of the atmospheric pollution transport pathways and sources in Shenyang, based on the HYSPLIT model

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2019
Abstract The transport pathways and potential sources distribution of air pollutants are statistically analyzed based on the Hybrid Single–Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) model and the TrajStat method driven by the meteorological data of the Global Data Assimilation System (GDAS), and the concentration monitoring data

Impact of Transported Wildfire Emissions on Urban PM2.5 and O3 in Queensland, Australia

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Wildfires degrade urban air quality by transporting fine particulate matter (PM2.5 ${\text{PM}}_{2.5}$) and ozone (O3 ${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$) precursors. Such impacts are seldom quantified in the Southern Hemisphere. This study quantified contributions of wildfire emissions to ambient PM2.5 ${\text{PM}}_{2.5}$ and O3 ${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ (ΔPM2.5 ...

Discussion on Water Vapor Source Based on Hysplit Model and Characteristics of the Isotopes in Precipitation in Yinchuan [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2015 6th International Conference on Manufacturing Science and Engineering, 2015
Base on Hysplit model with Backwards Trajectory showed Yinchuan was dominated by westerly continental vapor throughout the year, and also was influenced by the maritime vapor in spring and summer. Owing to the high temperature, Yinchuan was remarkably effected by local evaporation of water vapor in spring and summer.

Development and Evaluation of an Urban Atmospheric Inverse Modeling Framework for the Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD Metropolitan Area: Initial Results From an Inert Tracer Case Study

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract Accurate quantification of hazardous material releases in cities is critical for emergency managers aiming to mitigate health impacts and mortality in the population. Here, a study on the development and evaluation of a high‐resolution (1‐km, 1‐hr) urban‐scale atmospheric inverse modeling system for the Washington, DC, and Baltimore, MD ...

Trace Elements in Total Atmospheric Deposition Directly Measured Over the Caribbean Region: Natural Versus Anthropogenic Sources and Geographic Origin

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract Dust, sea salt, and anthropogenic and biogenic particles in total atmospheric deposition are sources of essential elements that can significantly impact biogeochemical cycles in the Atlantic Ocean and in islands of the Caribbean region. This unique 41‐month data set records direct sampling of total atmospheric deposition from March 2015 to ...

An Integrated Process‐Based Approach for Interpreting Precipitation Isotopes Using North‐Central Texas as a Testbed

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract The isotopic composition of precipitation reflects the combined influences of moisture sources, rainout history, and convective intensity, but the relative importance of these controls varies among regions and remains poorly understood in continental settings.
