Predicting loss in magnetic steels under arbitrary induction waveform and with minor hysteresis loops [PDF]
We have studied ways of predicting power losses in soft magnetic laminations for generic time dependence of the periodic magnetic polarization J(t). We found that, whatever the frequency and the induction waveform, the loss behavior can be quantitatively

A best-fit model of power losses in cold rolled-motor lamination steel operating in a wide range of frequency and magnetization [PDF]
A procedure is described for identifying a mathematical model of core losses in ferromagnetic steel based on a minimal amount of experimental data. The new model has a hysteresis loss multiplicative coefficient variable only with frequency, a hysteresis ...

Effect of Yttrium on Microstructure and Magnetocaloric Properties in La1−xYxFe11.5Si1.5 Compounds
The effects of Y on the phase composition and magnetocaloric effect in La1−xYxFe11.5Si1.5 compounds were studied. Y2Fe17-type phase and α-Fe phase appear in the annealed La1−xYxFe11.5Si1.5 compounds when x ≥ 0.07 due to small solid

Mechanisms of hysteresis in human brain networks during transitions of consciousness and unconsciousness: Theoretical principles and empirical evidence. [PDF]
Hysteresis, the discrepancy in forward and reverse pathways of state transitions, is observed during changing levels of consciousness. Identifying the underlying mechanism of hysteresis phenomena in the brain will enhance the ability to understand ...

Hysteresis losses in hollow superconductors [PDF]
Flux penetration into a hollow superconducting filament in a time-varying transverse magnetic field is determined numerically. The magnetization of the filaments is calculated for field variations below and above the penetration field of the filament.

Sunk cost hysteresis and hysteresis losses
The transition from one economic equilibrium to another as a consequence of shocks is often associated with sunk adjustment costs. Firm-specific sunk market entry investments (or sunk market exit costs) in case of a reaction to price shocks are an example. These adjustment costs lead to a dynamic supply pattern similar to hysteresis.

Simulation of the stress dependence of hysteresis loss using an energy-based domain model
The assembled domain structure model (ADSM) is a multiscale magnetization model that can be used to simulate the magnetic properties of a core material. This paper reveals the mechanism of the hysteresis loss increase due to compressive stress applied to

Modeling of power losses in poly-V belt transmissions: hysteresis phenomena (standard analysis)
A simulation software is being developed for predicting the power losses in poly-V belt transmissions. For this purpose, some theoretical models have been implemented considering different types of power losses taking place in a Front Engine Accessory ...

DISTRIBUTION OF HYSTERESIS LOSS IN SPUTTERED CoCr FILMS [PDF]
The distribution of the hysteresis loss (ƊWh) for films with a high Hc⊥ / Hk ratio shows a monotonically decreasing behaviour with applied field (Ha) while medium and low Hc⊥ / Hk exhibit a double peak characteristic. The high field peak agrees with Hcw as determined from domain observations.
