A Note on Calculating Hysteretic Behavior

Soil Science Society of America Journal, 2000
A computational procedure for approximating the hysteretic relationship between pore water content and pressure head in porous bodies is described. A distribution function F is introduced that retains the features of the distribution function F of the ...

Nonlinear Dynamics of Rock: Hysteretic Behavior

Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics, 2001
We discuss the dynamics of media with hysteretic stress-strain properties. First, experimental evidence of the hysteretic behavior of rock is presented. This evidence leads to a pattern of unifying behavior whose origin is within the “bond system” of the material, which includes small cracks, intergrain contacts and, the cement that holds the grains in

Experimental study of hysteretic behavior of semi-rigid frame with a corrugated plate

, 2020
Corrugated steel plate shear wall (CSPSW) is one of the new structural systems used to resist earthquakes and that has better a hysteretic behavior than a flat plate shear wall.

Hysteretic behavior in three-dimensional soap film rearrangements

Physical Review E, 2011
We report experiments on soap film configurations in a triangular prism for which the shape factor can be changed continuously. Two stable configurations can be observed for a range of the shape factor h, being the prism-height/edge-length ratio. A hysteretic behavior is found, due to the occurrence of another local minima in the free energy.

Effect of Fines Content on the Hysteretic Behavior of Water-Retention Characteristic Curves of Reconstituted Soils

, 2020
An experimental investigation was carried out to evaluate the influence of fines content on the hysteretic behavior of water-retention characteristic curves (WRCCs) of reconstituted soil su...

Hysteretic Behavior Characterization of Friction-Damped Braced Frames

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1997
The dissipative capacity of friction-damped bracing systems is evaluated by a statistical characterization of the amplitude and frequency of the slip excursions during a seismic excitation. One-story, friction-damped braced frames are subjected to artificially generated stationary accelerograms, which are compatible with the normalized elastic response

Minor Loop Behavior In Classical Preisach Hysteretic Systems

1997 IEEE International Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG'97), 1997
Minor loop behavior have been investigated experimentally on magnetically uniaxial films of YIG based garnets and MnBi all having the easy direction of the magnetization perpendicular to the film plane and unit squareness. In these films the magnetization changes by domain wall motion.

Hysteretic behavior investigation of self-centering double-column rocking piers for seismic resilience

Engineering structures, 2019
Seismic resilient structures with low structural damage and self-centering behavior after an earthquake are focus issues of current earthquake engineering.

Hysteretic kinetic behavior of beef liver pyruvate carboxylase

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1978
Abstract Beef liver pyruvate carboxylase can exhibit transients of enzyme activity depending on prior incubation conditions. At pH 7.0, when the reaction is initiated with MgATP (after incubation with the other reaction components) an initial burst of activity occurs which decays to a slower rate.
