Absence seizures: Update on signaling mechanisms and networks
Abstract Absence seizures (AS) are a hallmark of genetic generalized epilepsies (GGE), characterized by brief episodes of impaired consciousness accompanied by electroencephalographic spike‐and‐wave discharges (SWDs). Traditionally attributed to cortico‐thalamo‐cortical (CTC) dysrhythmia, emerging evidence suggests a more intricate pathophysiological ...

Neural Network Models for Solar Irradiance Forecasting in Polluted Areas: A Comparative Study
Pollution‐aware hybrid ensemble model is proposed to forecast solar irradiance across eight diverse cities. The model integrates MLP, RNN, and NARX to handle varying atmospheric pollution levels. The model outperforms state‐of‐the‐art methods with enhanced accuracy and interpretability on standard solar irradiance data set.

This work proposes a high‐fidelity, simulation‐driven control framework for robust grid integration of hybrid PV–wind systems using a modular, hierarchical multi‐loop architecture with adaptive decision logic. The framework coordinates power, DC‐link voltage, and grid currents under fast load and generation changes, enabling safe exploration of extreme

Modelling Intra-Sinus Fluid Movements and Drainage Through Computational Fluid Dynamics Before and After Maxillary Sinus Augmentation: A Simulation-Based Pilot Study [PDF]
Objectives: Sinus lifting, a procedure to augment bone in the maxilla, may cause complications such as sinusitis due to impaired drainage. This study aimed to assess how sinus lifting impacts airflow in the sinus cavity, which is essential for patients ...

This study develops a time‐domain geoelectrical model of ground potential rise (GPR) in multilayer soil that couples electromagnetic field theory with nonlinear fault arc resistance. Finite‐element simulations calibrated against scaled fault‐injection experiments reproduce measured GPR and step/touch voltages within 4.7% error, revealing that steady ...
