Comparative study between LMA supreme with I-gel in anaesthetised adult patient on effectiveness and safety [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Supreme laryngeal mask airway (SLMA) and I-gel airway devices are second generation supraglottic airway devices (SAD) and are good alternatives to intubation during surgeries.

Analysing the efficacy of the I-gel supraglottic airway device in the supine and lateral decubitus positions.

open access: yesAnaesthesiology Intensive Therapy, 2018
BACKGROUND The advantages of the I-gel supraglottic airway device include ease and speed of insertion, reduced trauma incidence, an integral bite block, gastric access, a non-inflatable cuff and superior seal pressure.

TOMM20 as a driver of cancer aggressiveness via oxidative phosphorylation, maintenance of a reduced state, and resistance to apoptosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

I-gel assisted fiberoptic intubation in a child with Morquio′s syndrome

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia, 2015
Morquio's syndrome, also known as mucopolysaccharidosis type IV is an autosomal recessive disorder, caused by deficiency of n-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulphate. Anesthetic management of this syndrome is a great challenge, especially in pediatric age group as "cannot ventilate, cannot intubate" scenario can be encountered by anesthesiologist due to the ...

Comparison of I-gel with Baska Mask Airway for Controlled Ventilation in Obese Patients Undergoing Ambulatory Surgery: A Prospective Randomized Trial

open access: yes, 2017
The ideal supraglottic airway device must have high airway seal pressures during spontaneous and positive pressure ventilation also low resistance to the flow of gases. This study compared the utility of I-Gel with Baska Mask during general anesthesia in

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Safety and effi cacy of insertion of supraglottic device in anaesthetised patients by fi rst-time users [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background: Over the years, several supraglottic devices have been developed, but the most recent one is the i-gel®. It is a new device with some distinctive features that set it apart from many of its competitors.

Bezoutians and Tate Resolutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper gives an explicit construction of the Tate resolution of sheaves arising from the d-fold Veronese embedding of P^n. Our description involves the Bezoutian of n+1 homogenous forms of degree d in n+1 variables.

Clinical Comparison of I-Gel Supraglottic Airway Device and Cuffed Endotracheal Tube for Pressure-Controlled Ventilation During Routine Surgical Procedures.

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, 2017
Objective Recently, there has been a trend favouring the use of supraglottic airway devices over endotracheal tubes (ETT) during short surgical procedures.

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′
