Swedish granitoids of S- and I-type and their lithophile element distribution

Geologiska Föreningen i Stockholm Förhandlingar, 1987
Abstract Three groups of Swedish granitoids, early, late and postorogenic, have been studied with respect to how S- or I-type granite models might be useful in the classification of these rocks. An attempt has also been made to determine which relationships, reflected in the distribution of lithophile ore elements, best characterize S- and I-types. The

Petrogenesis of I-type granitoids from the Melrose Stock, east-central Nevada

International Geology Review, 2010
The Melrose Stock in the Dolly Varden Mountains of east-central Nevada is one of the many Mesozoic intrusion s in the Basin and Range Province. It consists of monzonites, quartz monzonites, granodiorites, and granites sharply intruding Mississippian to Triassic units.

Devonian/Mississippian I-type granitoids in the Western Carpathians: A subduction-related hybrid magmatism

Lithos, 2013
Abstract SIMS zircon U–Pb dating of I-type granitoids from four Variscan crystalline basement outcrops in the Western Carpathians (Tribec, Nizke Tatry, Cierna Hora and Slovenske Rudohorie Mts.) implies that they originated between 367 and 353 Ma. Therefore, they belong to the earliest Variscan I-type granitoids. The oldest Devonian age at ca. 367–364

S- and I-type granitoids of North Victoria Land, Antarctica, and their inferred geotectonic setting

Geologische Rundschau, 1987
In the context of Gondwana North Victoria Land forms the Antarctic conjugate terrain to the East Australian Lachlan Fold Belt, where the distinction between S- and I-type granitoids was first worked out (Chappell &White 1974). Thus the area was considered a good testing ground for the hypothesis when the German Antarctic North Victoria Land Expedition (

Contrasts betweenI‐ andS‐type granitoids of the Kosciusko Batholith

Journal of the Geological Society of Australia, 1978
Abstract Two distinct groups of granitoids occur on the eastern side of the Kosciusko Batholith. Those considered to be derivatives of sedimentary source rocks (S‐types) are usually foliated and either contain cordierite or white‐mica secondary after cordierite.

Polymetallic mineralisation associated with Carboniferous I‐type granitoids in central Stewart Island, New Zealand

New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, 2016
ABSTRACT Carboniferous granitoids in central Stewart Island host two metalliferous hydrothermal systems that formed during emplacement of the c. 306 ± 2 Ma old Euchre Pluton and 303 ± 2 Ma Hill 267 leucogranitoid, respectively. The Ogles Creek–Silvertown Hydrothermal System (OST) on the eastern side of South West Arm, Paterson Inlet ...

Orosirian I-type calc-alkaline granitoids from northern Brazil: Petrogenetic implications for evolution of the central Amazonian Craton

Lithos, 2021
Abstract New petrographic, lithochemical, in situ U Pb geochronological and Nd isotopes data allowed to propose a petrotectonic model for 1.90–1.88 Ga I-type calc-alkaline granitoids (Terra Preta Massif - TPM, Agua Branca Suite) from the southernmost Uatuma-Anaua Domain (UAD), Ventuari-Tapajos Province (VTP), central Amazonian Craton, Brazil.

Oxygen and hydrogen isotope geochemistry of S- and I-type granitoids: the Cape Granite suite, South Africa

Chemical Geology, 1997
Abstract The Late Precambrian Cape Granite suite of the southwestern Cape, South Africa, can be subdivided into six major batholiths (Saldanha-Vredenburg, Darling, Malmesbury, Paarl-Wellington-, Stellenbosch-Kuils River, and Peninsula). Individual plutons have been classified as A-, I- and S-type granites on the basis of petrography and chemical ...

Neoproterozoic highly fractionated I-type granitoids of Shillong Plateau, Meghalaya, Northeast India: geochemical constraints on their petrogenesis

Acta Geochimica, 2020
There are several Pan-African granitoid plutons widely distributed in Shillong Plateau, NE India. Nongpoh (506.7 ± 7 Ma) and Mylliem (480–430 Ma) plutons were chosen for the petrological and geochemical study to constrain their petrogenesis. Nongpoh pluton consists of coarse-grained porphyritic quartz-monzogranite (NQM) and Mylliem pluton consists of ...

Association of A‐ and I‐type granitoids in the central Aravalli orogen, Rajasthan: Implications for the Neoproterozoic tectonic evolution of north‐west India

Geological Journal, 2022
We present new mineralogical and geochemical data for the granitoid plutons of the Neoproterozoic Sendra Granitoid Suite, central Aravalli orogen, north‐west India to constrain their petrogenesis and tectonic setting. The granitoids can be classified into two groups: (a) A‐type Chang, Chitar, Borwar, and Seliberi plutons and (b) I‐type Jaitpura pluton.
