Structural and biochemical insights into the thermostable esterase Ta0887 from Thermoplasma acidophilum

Identification and characterization of a gene conferring stress resistance in Escherichia coli and cyanobacteria

Functional screening identified PcSyn14890, a cyanobacteria‐specific protein that enhances growth and stress resistance in E. coli and Synechocystis PCC6803. Although we expected it to function as a molecular chaperone, it was unable to protect against thermal aggregation of GAPDH.

Transport and Magnetic Properties of CaPd_3−xCu_xO₄ (x ≤ 2.4) with Interconnecting Cu(Pd)O₄ Chain Structure

We have successfully synthesized a set of polycrystalline samples of CaPd3−xCuxO4 from x = 0 to 2.4, and measured the resistivity, thermopower and susceptibility down to 4 K. We find that the solid solution between Pd and Cu systematically evolves the electronic ground states from a conventional band insulator to a correlated Mott insulator.
