Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

Galaxy morphology in CANDELS: addressing evolutionary changes across 0.2 ⩽ z ⩽ 2.4 with hybrid classification approach

ABSTRACT Morphological classification of galaxies becomes increasingly challenging with redshift. We apply a hybrid unsupervised-supervised method to classify ${\sim} 14\,000$ galaxies in the Cosmic Assembly Near-IR Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey fields at $0.2 \le z \le 2.4$ into spheroid, disc, and irregular systems.

In silico and in vitro exploration of a tyrosinase for biocatalytic production of catechols

De novo synthesis of short‐chain aldehydes and hydrocarbons secreted by the brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys

The brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys, mainly secretes 4‐oxo‐(E)‐2‐hexenal, (E)‐2‐decenal, dodecane and tridecane, a mixture representative of that released by many heteropterans. We demonstrated that H. halys can synthesise these secretory components de novo using dietary glucose.
