I131 Levels in Milk

JAMA, 1963
To the Editor: —In the Aug 17, 1963, issue ofThe Journal( 185 :615), a physician from Delaware inquires about the significance of I 131 levels in milk. CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL NATURE OF FALLOUT I131 AND CARRIER-FREE I131 RELEASED IN AIR—AN ABSTRACT

Health Physics, 1963
Abstract—Fallout from Russian nuclear tests in the autumn of 1961 was sampled weekly at Harwell, England, with a composite sampler capable of distinguishing I131 in various forms. It consisted of a high-efficiency asbestos filter for collection of particulate iodine, followed by brass gauze for elemental iodine and by charcoal-impregnated filter paper ...

Über I131-Polyvinylpyrrolidon

Experientia, 1961
A modification of theGordon method for labelling polyvinylpyrrolidon with I131 is described. A more stable product with a higher iodine content has been obtained.

Location of Brain Tumors With Polyvinylpyrrolidone-I131

Archives of Neurology, 1963
In recent years, improvements in instrumentation (collimators, mechanical scanning devices, and so forth) and the availability of a greater variety of radioactive isotopes and substances labelled with isotopes have led to renewed optimism regarding the use of scanning methods for locating intracranial tumors.

The immunologic reactivity of bovine serum albumin labeled with trace-amounts of radioactive iodine (I131).

Journal of Immunology, 1949
In vitro studies have been carried out with bovine serum albumin which was tagged with radioactive iodine (I131) by direct iodination or by coupling with radioactive p-iodophenyldiazonium chloride.

The kinetics of I131 metabolism in the dog and human

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1953
Abstract A kinetic study of iodine metabolism was performed with 40 dogs and 12 humans using intravenously administered radioactive carrier-free iodine-131 (I 131 ). Because of the close correlation between the experimental data and those expected from theoretical considerations, it is believed that equilibrium between plasma and red cell I 131 is ...

General labelling of wool with I131

The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1963
A method for labeling wool fibers with I/sup 131/ was developed for following the passage of individual staples through textile manufacturing processes. The method comprises immersing the staples first in bromine water and then in a carrier-free solution of I/sup 131/.
