Hormonal effects on distribution and excretion of iodide-I131 in the dog

open access: yes, 1964
Studies of the kinetics of iodide-I131 given intravenously to control dogs and dogs receiving growth hormone, cortisone, and thyroxine showed that growth hormone and cortisone increased, whereas thyroxine decreased, the rate of urinary excretion of I131.

Effect of Estrone on Some Criteria of Thyroid Function

open access: yes, 1958
The effects of estrogen upon thyroidal I131 uptake, hormone discharge, total iodine content and distribution of radioiodine among the iodinated amino acids of the thyroid gland have been investigated in orchiectomized rats.

Lack of enhanced lysis of fibrinogen-I131 by anticoagulants in tumor-bearing rats

open access: yes, 1964
The effect of heparin and warfarin on the catabolism of fibrinogen-I131 in rats bearing a fibrinogen-localizing tumor, the Murphy-Sturm lymphosarcoma, was studied.

Secretion of I131 into milk by lactating rat mammary glands

open access: yes, 1960
The amount of I131 secreted in 8 hours into milk of lactating rats was determined on the 14th day of lactation using a technique which effected almost complete removal of milk from all 12 mammary glands. The mammary glands and kidneys each trapped 35–40%

Effect of Estrogen on Iodinated Amino Acids of the Thyroid and Serum

open access: yes, 1957
A chromatographic analysis of hydrolyzed and nonhydrolyzed thyroid tissue and of serum was made 6 and 24 hours after the administration of I131 to estrogen-treated and control castrate male rats.

Outpatient treatment of Graves disease patients with fixed I 131activity

open access: yesКлиническая и экспериментальная тиреоидология, 2013
Results of treatment of 32 Graves disease patients with fixed activity of I131 in an outpatient mode were analyzed. 131 acitivty was 15 mCi (555 MBq). Mean age of patients was 48.5 years (20–70 years). Mean thyroid volume – 23 ± 13.9 ml.

Temperature and salt effects on water and electrolyte metabolism of thyroid slices

open access: yes, 1961
Groups of bovine thyroid slices were incubated under oxygen with shaking for 1 hour at temperatures from 10° to 40°C in 5° increments, and at 38°C with media of 0.7, 0.8, 0.9 and 1.0% sodium chloride. The media of tissues at each temperature or salinity

Whole-body measurement of radioactivity as a means of following in vivo the degradation of I131-labeled proteins in mice

open access: yes, 1960
Mice were injected with I131-labeled human or bovine serum albumin and determinations made of the rate of loss of radioactivity a) from the whole body ( in vivo counting), b) from the blood (serum samples), and c) from the total trichloroacetic acid ...
