Cloning and expression of a novel thermostable cellulase from newly isolated Bacillus subtilis strain I15

Molecular Biology Reports, 2009
A novel bacterial strain with high cellulase activity (2.82 U/ml) was isolated, and then identified by its morphological character and 16S rRNA sequence, and named Bacillus subtilis strain I15. The extracellular thermostable cellulase exhibited the maximum activity at 60 degrees C and pH 6.0.

Multi-pathways-mediated mechanisms of selenite reduction and elemental selenium nanoparticles biogenesis in the yeast-like fungus Aureobasidium melanogenum I15

Journal of Hazardous Materials
Selenium (Se) plays a critical role in diverse biological processes and is widely used across manufacturing industries. However, the contamination of Se oxyanions also poses a major public health concern. Microbial transformation is a promising approach to detoxify Se oxyanions and produce elemental selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) with versatile ...

I15 Electronic clinical dashboard for assessing symptomatic progression in huntington’s disease

Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry, 2016
Background Huntington’s disease (HD) is characterised by progressive motor, cognitive and psychiatric symptoms. However, it is difficult for clinicians to identify whether clinical features in an individual with manifest HD are progressing at a rate comparable to that expected for peers with similar CAG repeat length (CAGn) and age. Aims To develop

I15 Necessity and benefit of thrombophilia screening?

Blood Reviews, 2007
Several genetic and acquired risk factors for the development of venous thrombosis are known. Venous thrombosis is recognized as a multicausal disease caused by genetic and environmental factors. The identification of inherited prothrombotic risk factors has led to extensive laboratory screening for thrombophilia among patients and their family members.

I15 Sleep In Patients With Huntington's Disease: Interim Results From A Polysomnographic Study

Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry, 2014
Background 88% of HD patients report to suffer from sleep problems. A reduction in REM sleep as well as an increased REM sleep latency has already been described in previous studies. A recent study has shown, that these symptoms can also be observed in treated HD patients and even in still asymptomatic gene carriers.
