The inactivated infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) vaccine used as booster in layer hens influences the breadth of protection against challenge with IBV variants

Avian Pathology, 2022
To achieve long term protection of laying and breeding hens against aberrant egg production caused by infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), a vaccination programme incorporating both live-attenuated and inactivated IBV vaccines is required. High quality IBV

New variant of IBV in Poland

Veterinary Record, 2006
SIR, – We wish to report the occurrence of a new variant of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) in three flocks of 30,000 Ross 308 chickens in Poland. The birds were kept in very good conditions with access to food and drinking water ad libitum.

Organization of the IBV Genome

1984
We have investigated how the information contained within the large RNA genome of IBV is expressed. We began by examining the structure of IBV-specified RNAs. Infected chicken embryo kidney (CEK) cells contain at least 6 IBV RNA species. These consist of the viral genome, RNA F, with an estimated complexity of 23 kb1, and subgenomic RNAs A, B, C, D ...

Effect of IBV-H120 Vaccination in Broilers on Colibacillosis Susceptibility After Infection with a Virulent Massachusetts-Type IBV Strain

Avian Diseases, 2005
Vaccination against infectious bronchitis (IB) is aimed to protect against clinical IB. The question is, however, whether vaccinated birds are also protected against predisposure for colibacillosis after a subsequent IBV infection. We examined this research question in four experiments.

Identification of IBV QX vaccine markers : Should vaccine acceptance by authorities require similar identifications for all live IBV vaccines?

Vaccine, 2017
IBV genotype QX causes sufficient disease in Europe for several commercial companies to have started developing live attenuated vaccines. Here, one of those vaccines (L1148) was fully consensus sequenced alongside its progenitor field strain (1148-A) to determine vaccine markers, thereby enabling detection on farms.
