Cellular immune response in chickens infected with avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV)
To understand the mechanistic basis of innate immunity against the infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), the gene transcription profile of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) in SPF chicken tissues infected with an IBV-M41 strain was examined.

The nucleotide sequences of the spike precursor genes of infectious bronchitis virus strains M41 and 6/82 have been determined and compared with that of the Beaudette strain which we have previously sequenced. The two Massachusetts strains, M41 and Beaudette, were found to be remarkably similar, having only 3.7% of the amino acids different.

Generation of a Defective RNA of Avian Coronavirus Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) [PDF]
The Beaudette strain of IBV was passaged 16 times in chick kidney (CK) cells. Total cellular RNA was analyzed by Northern hybridization and was probed with 32P-labeled cDNA probes corresponding to the first 2 kb of the 5' end of the genome, but excluding the leader, and to the last 1.8 kb of the 3' end of the genome.

Astrocyte Senescence Impairs Synaptogenesis due to Thrombospondin‐1 Loss
Senescent hippocampal astrocytes lose TSP secretion, impairing excitatory synaptogenesis via the α2δ‐1 pathway. Restoring TSP‐1 rescues synaptic formation, revealing the contribution of astrocyte senescence to age‐related hippocampal synaptic decline.

The avian coronavirus (AvCoV) infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is a major poultry pathogen. A characteristic feature of IBV is the occurrence of many different strains belonging to different serotypes, which makes a complete control of the disease by ...

Atovaquone is an antimalarial requiring potentiation for sufficient efficacy. We pursued strategies to enhance its activity, showing that 4‐nitrobenzoate inhibits 4‐hydroxybenzoate polyprenyltransferase, decreasing ubiquinone biosynthesis. Since atovaquone competes with ubiquinol in mitochondria, 4‐nitrobenzoate facilitates its action, potentiating ...

The one-dimensional heat equation in the Alexiewicz norm
A distribution on the real line has a continuous primitive integral if it is the distributional derivative of a function that is continuous on the extended real line. The space of distributions integrable in this sense is a Banach space that includes all
