Multimodal Neoadjuvant Therapy for Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) With Vascular Involvement: What Is the Impact of Radiation on Perioperative Outcomes, Local Control, and Survival?

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Neoadjuvant chemoradiation for PDAC with vascular invasion remains understudied. The aim of this study is to compare neoadjuvant chemotherapy with chemoradiation (NAC + CRT) versus neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for PDAC with vascular involvement.

Ewing's Sarcoma in Adults: A Predictive Nomogram and Survival Analysis of a Cohort of 937 Patients

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ewing sarcoma is a rare malignancy of bone and soft tissue that most commonly affects children, adolescents, and young adults. Although multimodal treatment has improved survival in localised disease, outcomes remain poorer in adults, particularly in those with metastatic disease, larger tumours, or anatomically complex primary ...

Italian International Trauma Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents: Factor structure, measurement invariance, and validity in community and high‐risk samples

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, EarlyView.
Abstract Complex posttraumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) is recognized as a distinct diagnosis in the ICD‐11. The International Trauma Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (ITQ‐CA) assesses CPTSD symptoms in youth aged 7–17 years; however, no validated Italian version is currently available.

Comparison of 3‐Dimensional Ultrasound and Computed Tomography for Imaging of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives Three‐dimensional ultrasound (3D US) is emerging as a novel imaging method for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) as it creates a low‐cost 3D AAA overview without harmful radiation and nephrotoxic contrast agents, as opposed to conventional imaging. 3D US can be used with a non‐nephrotoxic contrast agent (3D‐CEUS) for lumen delineation.

Impact of Cardiometabolic Risk Factors and Steatotic Liver Disease on Liver‐Related Outcomes in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C After Curative Antiviral Therapy

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) frequently present with steatotic liver disease (SLD) and cardiometabolic risk factors (CMRFs). This study aimed to evaluate the impact of SLD and CMRFs on liver‐related outcomes (LROs) in CHC patients after HCV eradication.

The Choice Between Definitive Radiotherapy and Surgery for Cervical Cancer With Different Histology in Current Clinical Practice

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT For cervical cancer, the choice between definitive radiotherapy (RT) and surgery has long been a topic of debate. Clinical factors, including histology and tumor burden, have been examined in prior studies. Given recent advances in RT and the incorporation of concurrent chemotherapy, our study seeks to assess the optimal treatment modality for

Stage‐Dependent Prognostic Value of the Joint MASLD–NAFLD Fibrosis Score Phenotype Across the Cardiovascular–Kidney–Metabolic Syndrome Continuum: A Retrospective NHANES Cohort Analysis, 1999–2018

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic (CKM) framework and metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) describe a shared clinical continuum, but the prognostic value of joint fatty liver index (FLI)–NAFLD fibrosis score (NFS) phenotypes across CKM stages is uncertain.

Adding lateral retinacular release to medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction reconstruction has no effect on patellar height: A prospective randomised controlled trial

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the effect of medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction with or without lateral retinacular release (LRR) on patellar height in patients with recurrent patellar dislocation (RPD). It was hypothesised that the addition of LRR would not significantly modify patellar height compared with isolated MPFL reconstruction.
