Mathematical modelling of ice beam deflection dynamics

2021
The assessment of stresses arising from the interaction of the ice field and inclined structures is an important part of research in ice mechanics. For these purposes, various mathematical tools are used, including mechanical models of beams. The article presents solutions for the equation of dynamic deflection of a beam with different boundary ...

Single Chip Deflection System IC for Color TV

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1978
Deflection system in a color TV consists of a sync separator, vertical and horizontal oscillators, and an AFC circuit. Several devices to perform these functions have been developed. Stringent requirements of frequency stability necessiated the development of sophisticated devices such as AFC and frequency count down IC's.

Buckling and Deflection of Ice Sheet Caused by Ship

The Journal of Ocean, Mechanical and Aerospace -science and engineering- (JOMAse), 2018
The movement of ice ship gradually gives load to the ice sheet, along with that, the ice sheet will react in proportion to the load of the ship. The phenomenon of interaction between ice and hull of ship has been studied by researchers through empirical mathematical simulation and experiment. This paper discusses the phenomena of ice sheet buckling and

Time Deflection Behaviour of Ice Plates

1986
In analyzing ice plates it has been customary to use rather simple material models. In this paper a theory for viscoelastic plates is presented which uses a more realistic nonlinear constitutive law for ice, incorporating the most recent experimental data and including all three stages of creep and hereditary effects.

Elasto-Delayed-Elastic simulation of short-term deflection of fresh-water ice covers

Cold Regions Science and Technology, 1996
Abstract The simulations of short-term, time-dependent, fresh-water ice cover deflections under variable loading conditions have been carried out using a combination of an “Elasto-Delayed Elastic” model for primary or transient creep and Wyman's elastic theory.

Systems Approach to Deflection Drive with IC

IEEE Transactions on Broadcast and Television Receivers, 1973
Many novel circuit designs could not have been previously applied to consumer electronics because of the complexity and cost involved. Modern semiconductor technology removes the obstacles by allowing the use of the monolithic integrated circuit.

The Deflection of an Ice Sheet by a Submerged Gas Source

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1977
The deflection of an infinite ice sheet by a submerged gas source, as would result from an undersea gas or oil well blowout is analysed utilizing an elastic thin plate model. The results show that fracture may occur either at the bubble center or just beyond the bubble edge, depending upon the bubble depth, the ice thickness, and the material ...

Time dependent deflections of nonhomogeneous ice plates

Acta Mechanica, 1976
Two characteristics of floating ice plates which are important in engineering problems are the effect of temperature on the mechanical properties of ice, and the viscoelastic response of ice under prolonged loading. In this paper, the floating ice plate is considered as a viscoelastic plate on an elastic foundation.

Pad Deflection-Based Model of Chemical–Mechanical Polishing for Use in CAD IC Layout

IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing, 2010
The use of chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP) during the integrated circuit (IC) fabrication process has allowed for the aggressive interconnect patterning that is necessary for modern microprocessor technology. However, as IC technology has moved into the deep submicron realm, nonidealities during polishing have begun to play a significant role in ...

Deflection of a floating sea ice sheet induced by a moving load

Cold Regions Science and Technology, 1985
Abstract A large number of time-deflection curves was obtained from a field experiment carried out on the sea ice sheet at Lake Saroma, Hokkaido, Japan, using a Skidoo snowmobile as a moving load with the test speed changed from 0 to 14.2 m/s. The thickness of the ice sheet was 0.17–0.18 m, the ice temperature was −2.5 to −4°C at the surface, and the
