Theoretical researches into planetary atmospheres and their influence upon surface features [PDF]

open access: yes
The interface between certain geological and atmospheric phenomena on Mars was studied by examining those geological features which are associated with the presence of water in the liquid or solid phases.

Development of a Synthetic Hydrogel to Foster Microvascularization of an Endometriosis Microphysiological System

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ascent of novel alternative methods in drug development spotlights the dual needs for improved biological fidelity to in vivo, along with reproducibility, especially in regulatory applications. The need for pre‐clinical models of patient‐derived endometriosis lesions motivates the development of a vascularizable, completely synthetic ...

Fallow Futures: A Short Story [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
What will the future be like? And how will humans live with, within the natural world? As we hear more and more of natural phenomena and land formations that are not only protected but also granted legal rights equivalent to those of humans (recently ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Anomalous growth of single ice crystals in solution [PDF]

open access: yes
It is shown that major discrepancies exist between experiments and theory for ice crystal growth from solution. Accurate data, taken in a microgravity environment, approximate analytical models, and exact (probably numerical) models all are needed to ...

Mapping Nanoscale Protein‐Corona Kinetics of DoE‐Optimized Perfluorocarbon Encapsulated‐PLGA Nanoparticles by In Situ, Time‐Resolved Synchrotron SAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

The Influence Of The Hydraulic Exchange Relations In The Evolution Of Ice Jam Phenomena On Bistriţa River In The Area Between Dorna Arini (Suceava County) And Borca (Neamţ County)

open access: yesPresent Environment and Sustainable Development, 2015
The presence on Bistriţa River, in identical climatic conditions, of sectors with well-developed ice formations in the immediate vicinity of river sectors lacking or with weakly developed such formations demonstrates the existence of other factors beside
