Theoretical Study on the Ice Melting with Transient Double Effects of Temperature and Concentration
The melting of the ice plate with the transient double effects of the temperature and concentration was studied theoretically. In the present study, our main attention was paid to the early stage of melting, when the abrupt changes of the temperature and

The response of ice cover to a load moving along a frozen channel [PDF]
Deflections and stresses in an ice cover of a frozen channel caused by a load moving with a constant speed along the channel are studied. The channel is of rectangular cross section. The ice cover is isotropic and clamped to the walls of the channel. The

Ice-shelf vibrations modeled by a full 3-D elastic model
Forced ice-shelf vibration modeling is performed using a full 3-D finite-difference elastic model, which also takes into account sub-ice seawater flow. The sea water flow is described by the wave equation.

The ice response to an oscillating load moving along a frozen channel [PDF]
Unsteady response of an ice cover to an oscillating load moving along a frozen rectangular channel is studied for large times. The channel is filled with ideal incompressible fluid. The ice cover is modelled by a thin elastic plate.

Experimental Study of Edge Loading of Ice Plates
The interaction of an ice cover and a fixed narrow structure was modelled by edge loading large rectangular (0.4 m × 0.5 m) plates of columnar-grained ice. The plates were set on one of the long edges and the load was applied to the opposite edge by means of indentors of widths varying between 12 and 150 mm.
