Static Ice Pressure Measuring System Based on Fiber Loop Ring-Down Spectroscopy and FPGA
Hydraulic engineering built in the cold region, such as reservoirs and hydropower stations, is often threatened by static ice pressure from nature.

Experimental Study on Adhesive Characteristics of Aircraft Dynamic Icing
The adhesive properties of aircraft icing play an important role in guiding the design of protection systems, while the formation environment, freezing process, and measurement methods have a great impact on the mechanical characteristics of ice, leading

Characterization in Relevant Icing Conditions of Two Superhydrophobic Coatings
The formation of ice can be very detrimental to flight safety, since the ice accumulated on the surfaces of the aircraft can alter both the aerodynamics and the weight, leading in some cases to catastrophic stall situations.

Digital Twin-Driven Design of an Ice Prediction Model
This paper describes the development of an ice creation model to be used within the framework of a model-based systems engineering approach to predict the amount of ice growing on aircraft wings during flight.

Study of the Technologies for Freeze Protection of Cooling Towers in the Solar System
A cooling tower is an important guarantee for the proper operation of a solar system. To ensure proper operation of the system and to maintain high-efficiency points, the cooling tower must operate year-round.

Wind Tunnel Tests on a Piezo-Based Ice Protection System
The requirements of the upcoming aircraft generation based on hybrid or electric propulsion discourage the use of Ice Protection Systems (IPSs) based on hot-air spilled from engine or demanding a large consumption of electrical power.

Reliability improvement of power distribution line exposed to extreme icing in Poland [PDF]
Currently, overhead lines dominate in the Polish medium and low voltage distribution networks. Maintaining their high reliability constitutes a very important challenge, especially under the severely changing climate conditions.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
