Proximity analysis between icebreakers and narwhals in Tasiujaq, Nunavut, Canada

This study looked at the proximity between icebreakers and narwhals in Tasiujaq, Nunavut, Canada. All icebreakers in the area had at least one encounter with a narwhal, approaching as close as less than 1 km. Cumulative time in proximity to vessels can have negative impacts on narwhals in their summering habitat.
