III. On the shoulder girdle in ichthyosauria and sauropterygia [PDF]
Abstract The author discusses the structure of the shoulder girdle and the homologies of its several parts in these families. He shows that the alleged existence of a precoracoid in the Ichthyosauria rests on an insufficient foundation; offers proofs that in Plesiosauria the anterior ventral ray is not only theoretically but actually ...

Abstract Ichthyosaurian faunas before and after the Pliensbachian stage of the Early Jurassic are known from numerous, often complete fossils. The two faunas are very different taxonomically, with only one of the pre‐Pliensbachian genera, but none of the species, persisting into the post‐Pliensbachian (Toarcian).

Abstract Fossilized food items found in or passed through the digestive tract of an animal (bromalites) offer a window into the dietary habits and ecological role of the producer taxon. Bromalites have been documented from several small to mid‐sized parvipelvian ichthyosaurian species from the Lower Jurassic, but are seldom documented for the largest ...

A large skull of Ichthyosaurus (Reptilia: Ichthyosauria) from the Lower Sinemurian (Lower Jurassic) of Frick (NW Switzerland) [PDF]
An incomplete skull of an ichthyosaur attributed to Ichthyosaurus communis Conybeare 1822 is reported from the Lower Sinemurian calcarenites (upper part of the "Beggingen Member”, previously "Arietenkalk”, Semicostatum zone) of Frick (Canton Aargau ...

New information on the forefin of Utatsusaurus hataii (Ichthyosauria)
Utatsusaurus hataii, an Early Triassic ichthyosaur from Japan, is represented by exceptionally well preserved materials but is poorly known because of incomplete preparation. Further preparation of the holotype and one of the paratype specimens has revealed nearly complete forefins that are pentadactyl, with no more than five phalanges in any of the ...
