Potato virus X is a filamentous RNA plant virus that can be engineered into a molecular tool for cancer therapy. We produced genetically‐encoded virus‐derived nanoparticles decorated with nanobodies targeting cancer cell receptors, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2).

Magnetic dynamics of ferromagnetic long range order in icosahedral quasicrystal
Quasicrystals lack translational symmetry and have unique lattice structures with rotational symmetry forbidden in periodic crystals. The electric state and physical property are far from complete understanding, which are the frontiers of modern matter ...

Locally preferred structure in simple atomic liquids
We propose a method to determine the locally preferred structure of model liquids. This latter is obtained numerically as the global minimum of the effective energy surface of clusters formed by small numbers of particles embedded in a liquid-like ...

Structure and Stability of the Twofold Surface of Icosahedral Al-Pd-Mn by Low-Energy Electron Diffraction and X-Ray Photoemission Spectroscopy [PDF]
We have used low-energy electron diffraction and x-ray photoemission spectroscopy to investigate the structure of the twofold surface of icosahedral Al-Pd-Mn.

Cold water on icosahedral symmetry [PDF]
Linus Pauling has produced an alternative explanation of the observation that solid manganese–aluminium alloy may have 5-fold symmetry on the atomic scale. How can the two views be reconciled?

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

The Birth of $E_8$ out of the Spinors of the Icosahedron
$E_8$ is prominent in mathematics and theoretical physics, and is generally viewed as an exceptional symmetry in an eight-dimensional space very different from the space we inhabit; for instance the Lie group $E_8$ features heavily in ten-dimensional ...

Autonomous Locomotion of Tensegrity Structure on Low‐Temperature Surfaces
A low‐temperature responsive tensegrity structure (LRTS) is constructed by integrating low‐responsive temperature liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) cables, nonresponsive cables, and stiff rods. The low phase transition temperature of LCE is achieved by introducing a new liquid crystal mesogen.
