The Hilbert space of de Sitter quantum gravity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We obtain solutions of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation with positive cosmological constant for a closed universe in the large-volume limit. We argue that this space of solutions provides a complete basis for the Hilbert space of quantum gravity in an ...

The UK geography of the E-Society: a national classification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
It is simplistic to think of the impacts of new information and communication technologies (ICTs) in terms of a single, or even small number of, 'digital divides'. As developments in what has been termed the ?e-society?

A digital ecosystem for ICT educators, ICT industry and ICT students [PDF]

open access: yes2008 2nd IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies, 2008
Worldwide ICT education (information communication technology) is facing a major challenge of declining student enrollments; battling to keep its curriculum relevant and up-to-date while trying to meet the high demand of ICT skilled workers in domain, such as resources, health, government and commerce.

Nanoscale Mapping of Plasmonic Charge Transport in Nano‐Resonators Based on Resistive Switching Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this strategy, a conductive nano‐probe is employed to induce nanoscale phase transitions and map the nanoscale conductivity and trap density of GST films. By utilizing the contrasting properties of phase‐change states, nano‐resonators are fabricated that exhibit plasmonic conduction and dramatically different transport characteristics.

Scalable Polyelectrolyte Complex‐Based Sorbent With Hourly Sorption−Desorption Cycles for Multicyclic Atmospheric Water Harvesting in Arid Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A polyelectrolyte complex‐based sorbent is produced by scalable, environmentally benign aqueous phase inversion. Its porous, LiCl‐ and GO‐integrated architecture enables hourly adsorption−desorption cycles at low relative humidity (RH < 30%). A large‐scale prototype achieves multicyclic, solar‐driven atmospheric water harvesting of 1.37 L kg−1 day−1 ...

SYK models and SYK-like tensor models with global symmetry

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
In this paper, we study an SYK model and an SYK-like tensor model with global symmetry. First, we study the large N expansion of the bi-local collective action for the SYK model with manifest global symmetry.

Characterisation of collaborative decision making processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper deals with the collaborative decision making induced or facilitated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and their impact on decisional systems. After presenting the problematic, we analyse the collaborative decision making and

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Renormalization in open quantum field theory. Part I. Scalar field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
While the notion of open quantum systems is itself old, most of the existing studies deal with quantum mechanical systems rather than quantum field theories.
