Radical preservation and the finitistic dimension

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We introduce the notion of radical preservation and prove that a radical‐preserving homomorphism of left artinian rings of finite projective dimension with superfluous kernel reflects the finiteness of the little finitistic, big finitistic, and global dimension.

Linear Transformations between Multipartite Quantum Systems That Map the Set of Tensor Product of Idempotent Matrices into Idempotent Matrix Set

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2013
Let Hn be the set of n×n complex Hermitian matrices and 𝒫n (resp., 𝒯n) be the set of all idempotent (resp., tripotent) matrices in Hn. In l-partite quantum system Hm1Tml=⊗1lHmi, ⊗1l𝒫mi (resp., ⊗1l𝒯mi) denotes the set of all decomposable elements ⊗1lAi ...

Idempotent 2x2 matrices over linearly ordered abelian groups [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications
In this paper we study multiplicative semigroups of $2\times 2$ matrices over a linearly ordered abelian group with an externally added bottom element. The multiplication of such a semigroup is defined by replacing addition and multiplication by join and

Rotational Invariance in Resting‐State fMRI: A Geometric Framework for Understanding Signal Processing and Connectivity

open access: yesConcepts in Magnetic Resonance Part A, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Resting‐state functional MRI (rsfMRI) analysis relies on complex mathematical operations whose properties and pitfalls are often poorly understood, leading to interpretational errors and suboptimal processing choices. This work presents novel mathematical insights for rsfMRI analysis through three key contributions: (1) a unified geometric framework ...

A Null Space-Based Blind Source Separation for Fetal Electrocardiogram Signals

open access: yesSensors, 2020
This paper presents a new non-invasive deterministic algorithm of extracting the fetal Electrocardiogram (FECG) signal based on a new null space idempotent transformation matrix (NSITM). The mixture matrix is used to compute the ITM. Then, the fetal ECG (

Crossed S-matrices and Character Sheaves on Unipotent Groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Let $\mathtt{k}$ be an algebraic closure of a finite field $\mathbb{F}_{q}$ of characteristic $p$. Let $G$ be a connected unipotent group over $\mathtt{k}$ equipped with an $\mathbb{F}_q$-structure given by a Frobenius map $F:G\to G$.

A Superalgebra Within: Representations of Lightest Standard Model Particles Form a Z25$\mathbb {Z}_2^5$‐Graded Algebra

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 537, Issue 12, December 2025.
A set of particle representations, familiar from the Standard Model, collectively form a superalgebra. Those representations mirroring the behaviour of the Standard Model's gauge bosons, and three generations of fermions, are each included in this algebra, with exception only to those representations involving the top quark.

Cryptography Based on (Idempotent) Semirings: Abandoning Tropicality?

open access: yesEncyclopedia
This review explores the current state of public key cryptography based on idempotent semirings, with an emphasis on tropical semirings. It examines key hard problems, such as the tropical discrete logarithm problem, semidirect tropical product problem ...

Mixability of Finite Groups

open access: yesRandom Structures &Algorithms, Volume 67, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT A finite group G$$ G $$ is mixable if a product of random elements, each chosen independently from two options, can distribute uniformly on G$$ G $$. We present conditions and obstructions to mixability. We show that 2‐groups, the symmetric groups, the simple alternating groups, several matrix and sporadic simple groups, and most finite ...

A Heuristic Method for Solving Polynomial Matrix Equations

open access: yesAxioms
We propose a heuristic method to solve polynomial matrix equations of the type ∑k=1makXk=B, where ak are scalar coefficients and X and B are square matrices of order n.
